Now for the Biscuits and gravy I have always covered my buscuits with the gravy and if I am really hungry Eggs sunny side up on top of that. Throw on a little hot sauce,, Tabasco preferably,, and you got yourself a meal. Mind you I grew up a northerner and didn't move south till I was in my 40's

I built this one up a while ago. If I remember correctly it went together pretty good, sparse cockpit detail but pretty straightforward build. I'm sure yours will come out much better than mine did!

I was working on the P-40E, Toshi. The one with all of the scratch built details in the cockpit. The one that I messed up with too many layers of paint lol.

As its been sitting on the shelf of doom however, all of that paint has laid down fairly well. I may have to look a little closer. I might be able to just finish it as is.

Another nice looking kit Toshi. Seem to have had qui9te a few hellcat's lately, always room for more.

As for the biscuits and gravy, you guys are just strange. When i was at lakenheath last year i saw some one eating that, and the gravy was white. Whats that about. And as for the biscuits, how am i suppossed to dunk that in my brew, its huge.

I believe it was the F6F-5. Which ever one is all blue. I even tried masking and painting the white "checkers"...with mixed results lol!

It's possible Bish that the white gravy was a chicken gravy. It tends to be a lighter color than a beef or sausage gravy. Chicken and gravy over biscuits or mashed potatoes, now that's living my friend! lol And there is your gravy lesson for the day

The photos below depict the F6F-5 Hellcat's cockpit.  In this build I have attempted for the very first time, scratch building.  I see so many of you forum members do such a professional job, so please don't laugh at my feeble attempt!  LOL!  LOL!

As I've seen and read, the seat belts are made from Tamiya tape and the buckles are painted silver.  The red knobs are made from extra resin pieces while the yellow dots are built up paint.  There's a small fire extinguisher from my spares box that I added by the cockpit seat.

I have toned down the colors with my Tamiya Weatherine kits and I will use a wash to blend everything in.  From there I'll see how things look.

A few years ago on a road trip with Mrs Greg, we were having our free breakfast at Holiday Inn Express and I mentioned Bill liking biscuits and gravy. The boss, who happens to be Chinese and is quite picky about American food told me to try it.

I did, and love it. It's now one of my favorites, and the boss won another one, being yet another Asian Biscuit and Gravy fan, apparently. :)

You sure do a nice job on that teeny-tiny 1/72 detail painting, Toshi. Looks like a fun kit.

Toshi. I was at USAF museum two weeks ago. Was in Ohio for 4 mornings ate at Bob Evans for 3 of them. Yummy yummy. First Watch on first morning delicious but a little pricey

Thank you for the kind comment in regards to painting in 1/72.  It's definately a fun kit.  What makes it great is that it goes together like a Tamiya kit.  Thank you Greg for always supporting my builds and thanks for sharing your biscuit and gravy story, LOL!

Good start on exploring scratchbuilding Toshi.  Another material for seatbelts that I like to use on 1/72 and smaller is aluminum foil.  It is thin enough to look scale and is easy to manipulate on a tiny seat with tweezers and a small dab of CA.  I normally paint a small sheet of foil, then cut out my seatbelts and apply them to the model.  You can even make the little buckles.

For future builds, maybe pick up a few sheets, in various thickinesses, of Evergreen Plastic, and also while at Hobby Lobby, pick some thin sheets of aluminum and brass, along with some wire and tubing, to put in the stash.  With these basic materials, you can then experiment with making details that don't quite look right to scale in the kit or are missing.  Scott
