Finally, the one you've been waiting for! The last featured aircraft in the seemingly endless tour of Max's Aircraft Museum which is really just my office. This is an older one from years back but still one of my favorites. Not the perfect model, but does look striking, I must say, flying and casting a shadow on me in the Museum. With a 31'' wingspan it is only second in size to the 38'' B-36 also flying.
Not only is this one of the most significant aircraft in history, both in longevity and destructive capability, but one my uncle Col. George Wells flew in the Strategic Air Command loaded with doomsday weapons.
Another side note about this model. I was visiting the Barksdale AFB Museum in Louisiana a few years back and noticed the B-52D example they had looked very familiar. Soon I found a sign near it explaining that this was indeed the actual aircraft that Monogram measured and photographed for the model.
I hope everyone enjoyed their personal tour of Max's Aircraft Museum!
