Looking good! I'll have to give that paint a try! Now that your putting decals on I've come to realize I settled on the other version of this kit.  I figure it's about time I challenge myself with my painting, and learn to also have some paitence with it, lol.  I am of course using the P-39's as my test subjects first before tackling the much, much bigger C-54.

Yes, it's Model Master Acrylic #4677 Aluminum and Model Master Enamel #1790 Chrome Silver.  I also tried Vallejo Metal Color #77.707 Acrylic.  It's the Alclad Lacquer paints that I here so much about on here.  I got give that a try.

The other verison has a tri-color scheme.  That one is very colorful.  Your P-39 Airacobra looks great.  Thank you Keyda81 for your time and visit to my WIP!

Are you going to need to weight the nose to keep it down?

Toshi, those open doors are a good feature, they make you want to peek in.

They were a challenge as I had to cut those doors out.  That's some thing I've never done before.  I think I was more than scared attempting to cut through the main fueselage like that with a saw and blade!  LOL!  But it came out great.  Yes, actually do peak in with an LED Flashlight every now and then.  LOL!  Thanks for stopping by and always supporting my WIP!

Your best work Toshi, it really shows how much you have progressed, and with a complex build like this one.  I like that you opened up the doors.

Why thank you for such kind words, you honor me greatly sir.  I don't know if it's a best work in anyway, but due to you and FSM Forum members, I could not have gotten this far in my building experience at all.  My growth would be stymied at best.  Opening the doors were a first for me.  Thank you scottrc for your support in my projects!

To my fellow forum members,

The C-54D Skymaster is far from done.  There's still the ubiquitous it needs a little here a little there type of attention to details needed.  This morning it's 15 degrees and still dropping.  Windchill factor of 12!  Yes, it's cold.  But I had to do this photo shoot, it has not snowed in two days and we finally got a light coating.  Perfect for a winter tarmac shoot.

Awesome C-54 Toshi! It takes me back 55 years ago when Dad was flying them out of Wiesbaden AFB. Thanks for all of the build details. I need to pull mine out of the stash and build it! Thank's for the motivation. - Mike
