You've really got me considering those masks, Joe. I see you're using them a lot more lately and the results are fantastic.

You can add those flesh eating sea insects to the list Lol. Joe, great job as always, I can't wait to see it finished.
This WIP looks excellent! I love the Corsair especially "Pappy"!

"Can you fly this plane and land it?...Surely you can't be serious....I am serious, and don't call me Shirley"
I bet you a beer that you will finish your F4U before I complete my version...
Excellent start taking into consideration you have three builds on the go simultaneously.
Damnit Joe...you're 190's are cool...but I'm such a sucker for PTO aircraft!! =D After I'm done the Wildcat I've got, I need to replace Vraciu's Hellcat I lost in the move. But then I plan to do another Corsair...I just don't know who's just yet. I've got a book on Corsair aces so I'll have to thumb through there again. The only other Corsair I have is Pappy's Tri-color scheme but I've just done two back to back Blue-grey paint schemes so I don't know. Maybe it'll end up being a birdcage who knows. lol.
You're a machine Joe. I don't know how you do it. Can't wait to see her come up!

After finishing up two Tamiya 1/32 Corsairs, I have been tasked with building a 1/48 version of the VMF 214 plane that was sometimes flown by Pappy Boyington, #740. I've done several of Pappy mounts, to include his 915 that he was shot down in, so there's no need for a huge intro. All I'll say as that he was reported to be a great leader and had balls as big as church bells.
I'll be using the Tamiya kit with some goodies. I got some Montex masks for 740 too.
Other than an Ultracast seat, the pit was done out of the box with Gunze interor green. I added some Aeroscale cockpit placards too.
I used Aeroscale gauge decals and they work great, particularly on blank faced dials as in this case. Highly recomended!
I still hate the fit if the outer wings. A lip would have been nice. They dropped the ball on the newer 1/32 kit too. I muddled through it and got here.
I'm gonna start rigging that R-2800 soon...
