Thanks Stickpusher.  Jabara it is then!

Some progress - exhaust and gun panels painted and gear on.  Finicky nose gear.  Suprised me because the main gear are so easy.

Thanks,

John

Got the gear doors on, tanks and started decaling.  In the process - I knocked the windscreen off..... needs work, but not sure how to fix.  Anyhow, the warbird decals are for the monogram or acadamy kits so there are some subtle differences in scale for the hasegawa kit.  Nothing decal sol hasn't solved so far.  I'll let these set up ( they are still soaked in decal sol) and do the data sheet tomorrow.

Thanks,

John

Warbird Decals.  You need 48 025 basic data/stripes and Im using 48 027.  48 026 has other birds like mad marine.

2 hours of data/stencil decaling and it doesn't look that different :o

I have another 2 hours for the fuselage - done for the night.  Going to watch a movie with my wife.

Thanks,

John

Got the rest of the stencils/data on and put down a little clear smoke on the panel lines.

Calling it done - though the piston for the port speed brake went off to oblivion, It will turn up at some point...lol.

All in all a great kit.  Decals were a mixed bag - the stripes were very thick and I had issues as this set is not designed for the Hasegawa kit.  On the shelf she goes!

Thanks,

John

Nice finish!  So did you break that piece off that protrudes from the end of the right wing at all?  I did on the Sabre dog I did, lol.  I knew it was going to happen at some point.

I also had a landing gear door piece from a C-17 go flying into oblivion.  It never turned up.  I think the vacuum cleaner got it.

Thanks Keyda - I put the breakables on last: Pitot tube, speed brakes, canopy etc.

I sure hope I find the piston - if not its an easy scratch build.  The minute I scratch build it I'll find the kit part... inevitable :)

Thanks,

John

Ah ok.  It was molded on the wing in the Revell kit.  I thought to myself how many times am I going to break that off?!

Really nice work on the Sword.  Nice recovery on the paint fiasco.  And you're right; Sabre stencils can make you go gooley-eyed very quickly.

Great job.
