Hey keavdog,
I have this same kit but am missing the decal sheet that came with the kit. Would you consider selling me your sheet since you are using after market decals?
Thanks. Very nice kit with the exception of the nose and wing/fusulage belly fit -both managable.
One more thing I found when researching which Sidewinders were on the the F-86... turns out they were never fitted with them - filling the inboard pylon holes :)

Thanks TB. For the most part its a good fitting kit.
Hey ;
So Far , So Good . I love the office ! The plane's main assemblies are looking good too .
Saw the later photos too .Wing Roots , nice and tight , Looking great .
I havent had any issues. This is my process for NMF. I do thoroughly wash the model after polishing.
I'm wondering about polishing the plastic with Novus. I did a canopy with the 3 steps then dipped iit in Future. The Future slid right off and didn't coat it at all. I wonder if the Alclad will do the same thing ?
I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.
Thanks Toshi and Bish - little bit of sanding and polishing here and there. I'll get her squared away.
Thats looking good keav, nice job on that nose.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Back on the F-86. Seams etc cleaned up. Vent removed ( thanks murph! ).
Next will be the 3 step novus plastic polish of the entire plane followed by a coat of gloss black.
Then the fun part of laying down AlcladII aluminum!
Nice job on the pit and that panel. Coming along nicely.
Sweet! The new GT with the IRS and track package is a better track car than my boss. Thought long and hard about trading her in.
keavdog Thanks for the tip! Thats my 2013 Boss 302LS on track at chuckwalla. Too many hobbies...

keavdog and Jay Jay...you're very welcome. Glad to have helped.
Nice ride. I got a ruby red 2017 GT drop top in Oct 16 (factory ordered). Haven't had it on a track yet but I'm really impressed with it. Beats the tar out of the 02 GT convertible I had in every respect. Ford really did it right with this one. Happy motoring!
Retired and living the dream!
I agree Murph, that tip was very helpfull and I will be sure to remove it from my "Mig Mad Marine " version i am building from the exact same kit
keavdog
Not sure if you want to attempt a fix or not before you get too far along keavdog but the triangular vent in the top photo (to the left of the speed brake well) is unique to Japanese Sabres. They weren't on North American, Canadair or Avon produced airframes. Kind of a nit-picky thing of you're going for accuracy. If you're not a real stickler, then I'll just keep my yap shut.
And I agree with everyone. The nose ring on the Hasegawa (and Academy) Sabre is an Achilles Heel, if you will. Putty, sanding and rescribing lost panel lines is a bit of pain in the posterior.
Looking forward to your progress.
Mike
p.s. - your Mustang as your avatar?
Certainlty have a bit of work to do there, i know what you mean about the nose.
Fantastic start! Great assembly, should look really good after pre-prep.
Gracias Bish!
Got the fuselage buttoned up which was an excercise in alignment! You have to align the cockpit sitting on the intake tube and the exhaust tube - a bit fiddley. I also got the wings and stabilizers on.
The underside of the wing/fuselage joint will need some attention.
The nose piece has some issues... which is kind of the focal point so being a NMF, I'll be sanding and polishing.
Thats it for tonight!
Nice start on the pit, a lot of colourful scheme options for these subjects, should be fun.
This has always been one of my favorite airplanes. OOB build except for Warbird decals. I'm thinking of doing the Hal Fischer's Paper Tiger, but there's a lot of nice options on Warbird 48-027. Nice looking kit so far.
I'll be doing this in Alclad NMF - I'll post as I go.
I got the office together - going to add the pilot so not concerned about the ejection seat too much.
