Turned out great Toshi...

Thsnk you so much for the kind words lawdog114.  I did my best in the camoflauge paint scheme.  And I felt that some ares were sloppy and some areas were just ok!

Gamera said the this is a difficult paint scheme. And I did well.  But you know us modelers.  We are just too hard on ourselves.  lol!  Thank you for being there for me and always supporting my projects.

That is so beautiful, Toshi! Congratulations!

Now that you've finished this one, what will you build next?

Thank you so very much Model Maniac!  It was you and M. Brindos that inspired this build and I thank you so.  I feel that some areas were a bit sloppy in the mottle and some areas was just ok.  Then again Gamera mentioned that this was a very difficult paint scheme and that I did good.

As you are well aware, we as modelers tend to be harder on ourselves in our builds. And that’s just how I am, I tend to scrutinize my own works.  lol!  Lastly, I want to thank you for your continued support in my projects and your read and replies!  It’s very much appreciate!

As for my next build, I will be assembling the Trumpeter 1/32 Me 109 G-6.  I hope to see you on that thread.

Very nice built Toshi. The camo job is particularly impressive!

Thank you very much for the kind words ChrisJH666.  The camoflauge mottle in my humble opinion was a bit sloppy in some areas and just ok in other sections.  I guess as modelers, we are very hard on ourselves/builds.

Gamera said on the Japanese Group Build thread in that it was a very difficult paint scheme and that I did a good job for what it was.  My next build of which is a Trumpeter 1/32 Me 109 G-6 will require the mottle paint scheme.  This will be a great reprieve as well as require on my growing mottle technique.

Thank you sir for visiting my Tamiya 1/48 Kawasaki Hien “Tony” thread.  It is greatly appreciated!

Well done, Toshi. That turned out very very nice. I love that scheme, it's easily the scheme I like most of all the Japanese planes. Again, very nice work.

Thank you BrandonK!  Your words are too kind, I’m most humbled.  The paint scheme is my favorite too like you mentioned.  I also like the scheme color for the Zeros during the Pearl Harbor/Midway campaign.

My mottle came out sloppy in some areas and just ok in other parts of the aircraft.  I need more practice, my next build is a Me109 G-6.  This build should help me to focus on my mottle technique.  Thank you for the support, and encouragement, it means a great deal to me coming from such an esteemed FSM forum member like you.

 Nice job Toshi.

Thank you scottrc!  I feel that my mottle was a bit sloppy in some areas and just ok in other sections of the fuselage.  More focus and practice is needed.  I think I must apply myself more diligently.

Other than that, I had an extremely fun time building this kit especially with the Clear/Visible piece that was the key factor in this build.  Thank you once again scottrc for your continued support, read and replies!

The transparent version gives a view to the seldom seen areas of a model.

I wish they would do the same for armor subjects as in the Takom King Tiger or the Rye Fields Tiger I that I recently purchased. Both have super detailed interiors but once covered up..... Crying

Very cool looking Toshi.

Thank you plasticjunkie.  The coolest part of the build was the Visible/Clear fuselage.  The viewing of the interior design and engineering of the Ki-61 was the key to it‘s “Wow” factor.

Although I must admit, it was very challenging to do the Clear/Visible fuselage.  Things like fingerprints and paint marks are just some of the issues that arises.

Overall, it was a great kit to build.  I really had fun building this kit!  Thank you plasticjunkie for your support, read and reply!

Your friend, Toshi

P.S.  I didn’t know armour vehicle kits did not have Clear/Visible pieces in the kit.  That’s a shame not to be able to see all that detail.

Thank you tempestjohnny!  I feel that my mottle technique has a way to go.  It seems sloppy in some areas and just ok in other sections of the Ki-61.  But overall I had a fantastic time building this kit.  Thank you for the support, read and reply.

Chemteacher
Fantastic job as always.

Thank you so very much for the very kind words Chemteacher.  I try to do my best but on this project, the mottle needs to be more focused and not so sloppy on some sections of the AB areas.

Other than that issue, Tamiya has engineered another great aircraft kit.  I thouroughlly enjoyed this build as everything literally just snapped together without any issues nor concern.  Even being careful on my part with the seams was a joyous celebration on my part.

Thank you so very much for the read and reply.  It’s greatly appreciated.

Way to go Toshi on a awesome job on a tricky camo finish

Thank you so very much for the kind words.  You’ve been a great supporter of my builds and am most appriciative of this fact.  The camoflauge was the most challenging AB I’ve ever done.  To me, it needs to be more focused of this issue, some areas looked fine while other areas were quite on the sloppy side.

But we as modelers seem to be our most stern critics of our own builds!  So I must use this example of the Ki-61 mottle as a great and fantastic learning experience.  My next build counts on this, it’s a Me109 G-6.  The German mottle is just as difficult if not more difficult then the “Tony”.  This is due to the fact that some times it requires different color schemes to make up the paint scheme.

I am very greatfull for your continued support in my projects.  Thank you very much for the read and reply!

Thank you 1943Mike!  I still feel that the mottle was on the sloppy side and that I need to be a little more focused to convey the proper mottle design.  Some areas looks ok and some areas looked just outright sloppy.

All in all this was a great build and I had fun.  Being it a Tamiya kit, everything just literally snapped together.  I especially enjoyed the Visible/Clear fuselage.  It was challenging to build around it and yet it was most pleasureable to assemble.

As for the Asian girls, lol!  I do have a free account and they do not acquire my space to post and or to click on for a larger image.  I do get Russian blond girls wanting to get married and come to America.  Although these are rare and not too bothersome to the eye.  lol!  Mrs. Toshi told me to make sure the blond girl I pick to get married to has a lot of money!  lol!  Thank you for the read and reply!

That is fantastic Toshi!!  Ace work!  Yes

Thank you so very much for the kind words mmthrax!  I feel the mottle technique with the AB still needs to be dialed in better.  More practice is needed.  But all in all, this build was most pleasurable.  I really enjoyed the process of the building around the Visible/Clear fuselage.

This build had several challenging characteristic.  The mottle was one.  Then the decals were on the thick side.  The Visible/Clear fuselage ie: glueing around the fuselage, finger prints, making sure that the seams were spot on, etc.

Thank you crown r n7!  This was the most challenging free hand AB I’ve ever attempted to this point.  It was very exciting and fun to do once I got the paint ratio dialed in.  Thank you so very much for your read and reply.

1943Mike

Good work on the camo paint job. Coming along very well indeed. Did you use a combination of hand brushing and air brushing on this aircraft or is it all airbrushed?

Thank you 1943Mike!  On this build the interior was hand brushed.  The entire exterior was AB.  I used Vallejo Metal Color Chrome 77.707 for the NMF.  I then used Vallejo Camoflauge Olive Green 70.894 for the mottling.

The Vallejo Metal Color Chrome (NMF) was shot between 15psi to 12psi.  The Vallejo Camouflage Olive Green was shot between 8psi to 5psi.  The Vallejo Metal Color Chrome was shot straight out of the bottle as it’s AB ready.  The Vallejo Camouflage Olive Green was mixed with Vallejo AB Thinner 71.261 at a ratio of 60% paint 40% thinner.

I needed to make the Vallejo Camouflage Olive Green on the slightly thicker side as I couldn’t afford to have the pigment run.  With the 60%-40% mixture, the pigment bind and held on the NMF.  That was the issue with the NMF, I could not get the mottle to stick to the NMF.  That was a huge challenge.

Thank you for your interest and support in this project, it’s greatly appreciated!

Your friend, Toshi

P.S.  The entire aircraft was then sprayed with Testors Lacquer Clear Coat to prevent any scratching of the mottle.

Yeah, I've built a few Phantom Mustangs over the years. Even built Monogram's 1/32 scale P-51D and put the Phantom Mustang guts in it so the finished kit would look like a Mustang being serviced.

Oh, Wow!  That is very cool.  Especially flipping the two Mustangs, I would have never even think of that.  You should have done a WIP.  Thank you very much for this conversation.  It’s greatly appreciciated!

Toshi, this is your second build with a clear fuselage half is it not? Didn't you do a B-17 in a similar fashion? It's interesting to see the innards of the completed model. Who makes these kits and where did you find them?

The B-17G was a old Monogram kit out of production.  You can find them on eBay every now and then.  My second clear fueselage was a Trumpeter SBD dauntless.  My third one was a Trumpeter Me262 visible Aircraft and of course this is my last one for now.

Monogram has made quite a few that are out of production but are still obtainable at a reasonable price point.  The Phantom Mustang, the Visible submarine, and the visible workable V8 engine.  There’s a few more that don’t come to mind but they’re out there.  Good luck.

Good goin' on the paint job Toshi! I do enjoy these unusual patterns on late WWII birds. I think all the Axis powers got a little crazy with the camo at that stage of the war. Looks good buddy.Yes

Thank you so very much mustang1989.  Yes as you I too enjoy these unique mottling patterns as well!, although very difficult to execute.

Very well done, Toshi! I've been away for quite a while (over a month) and I'm glad to see your Ki-61 at near finish stage. I think it's about 70-80% complete now. Last month I got a new PC, they are so cheap these days. A Lenovo PC with AMD quadcore CPU running at 3.8GHz, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, a DVD Drive, complete with keyboard and mouse costed me only 8,990.- Baht (about $280). With fiber Internet connection (30M/5M) and a LAN cable from router, uploading of files is many times faster than in the past.

Last month I also built a lot of kits (total 41), mostly armors, figures and warplanes in 1:72 scale, all without an airbrush:

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.1676009865752692&type=3

Thank you so very much Model Maniac!  Congratulations on such a prestigious computer.  You should be able to post your photos ten times faster this year and I look forward to that!!!

That sir is quit the haul with great amount of a haul of finished kits this is such a great amount of kits!

Looking great Toshi. I have this one in my stash as well. Looks like it’s gonna be a peach to build

Thank you so very much Greatmaker!  That is very cool, will you be doing the Ki-61 like my build?  Visible fueselage?  Or with the standard fueselage?  As you mentioned it; “Looks like it’s gonna be a peach to build”. Thank you for the support and the read and reply.

The very unusual mask made by Tamiya.  In unusual I mean that it’s uncut and the modeler must cut out the corresponding mask that matches the canopy.  Unlike a Eduard product that is pre-cut and ready to go.  Why must one cut the individual piece out?  Maybe it’s to practice ones knife skill!  “Wax on, wax off” lol!

Thank you very much mustang1989.  I’m really enjoying building this kit.  lol!  Tom Brady got beat by a backup QB lol!

I’m still giggling from the game. Karma is a beautiful thing. Hopefully that’s the last Super Bowl we have watch the Cheats in.

Tosh...looking good bud.

You know lawdog114, Tom Brady will be forty one next season.  The human body is only capable of taking so many hits.  As always, they will make it in the post season games.  But I do see a few teams that can stir up the pot.  Like the Oakland Raiders.  I’m really curious to see what John Gruden has up his sleeves.

The forty niners.  Jimmy Garappollo looks really good in the pocket and he’s got a good offensive line to protect him.  Indianapolis Colts, how will Andrew Luck look like next season.  Philadelphia Eagles, is Carson Wentz back in the drivers seat.  And the New England Patriots, the “Cheats” lol I have to throw them in to see if there’s another GATE possible.  lol!  These are just a very small handful of teams that I think in my humble opinion that have the potential to make it in the post season games/playoffs.

Thank‘s lawdog114 for the very nice comment.  Coming from such a masterful artists like you means a great deal to me!

Your friend, Toshi

P.S.  lawdog114.  With whom do you like team/QB wise that’ll make it in the post season/playoffs?  Thank you in advance.

every thing is moving nicely for you thats very good.

Thank you crown r n7.  It’s definately a smooth road without any issues nor concerns.  I‘m looking forward to doing the attachment of the canopy and applying the mask by Tamiya albeit I have to cut it out myself.  Go figure, lol!  All the canopy masks from Tamiya, including their high end kits, needs to be cut out by hand.  ie: Tamiya 1/32 Mosquito.  Then to figure out the masking scheme of the fuselage.

That’ll be a challenge with the clear/visible fuselage.  I will definately enjoy this stage of the build as well!  Thank you crown r n7 for stopping by and supporting my build!

ManCityFan

Hey Toshi, looks like you are zipping along on this build, and sounds like you are having great fun doing it.  Everything looks great so far.

More importantly, it sounds like Mrs. Toshi is steadily getting better.  Those antibiotic IVs can't be much fun, but she is improving, and that is a very good thing!  How is her energy level?  I would think this would leave her feeling tired.

Wishing you warm thoughts from a very cold upstate New York (it was 4 degrees when I woke up this morning).

Your friend,

D

Thank you very much ManCityFan!  This build is zipping right along due to it being a Tamiya.  Everything just snaps into place without any glue. It’s a joy to assemble this kit.

Mrs. Toshi is getting better each day.  The antibiotic IV is very trying because it must be administered every eight hours but it’s worth it.  As for Mrs. Toshi’s energy level, she takes a mid-morning nap and other than that she keeps up with our eighteen month old grandson.  Which is a job in itself.  lol!  Of course I’m always there to help out.

Wow, four degrees.  We were in the twenties in the morning and thirties for this afternoon.  There is a small storm heading this way.  It’ll bring a couple of inches of snow at best.  Keep warm D Man!  Thank you for your support in my project.

1943Mike

Toshi,

You're a maniacally swift modeler! I thought I'd give you a week or two before checking in on your next (current) project after your B-17. I kind of dozed off checking in on some builds including yours and .. voila! Three weeks past your flying fortress and you're beyond the half way mark!! You, young man, are a fast one!

I've been painting, repainting, decaling, setting, resetting some %$#*&@ decals, remasking, airbrushing again, and all these steps require some time between them to allow the paint to cure. In other words, I've been working on some wings for 3 weeks that probably should have taken - with planning, care, and foresight, 3 days. I don't know how you do it but it's always fun to watch you make it happen.

Thank you 1943Mike!  Your words are too kind and humbled me greatly.  Modeling is a big part of my life now.  My priorities are still caring for Mrs. Toshi’s recovery and babysitting my grandson in that order.  My Toshi time is when I get to work on a kit.  Especially this kit as I really enjoy clear/visible kits.

Being it a Tamiya makes this an even more of a plus factor.  Two main sprues and two clear/visible sprues makes up this kit.  Everything fits like a charm and makes thing very pleasurable and fullfilling.  The B-17G turned out to be a; “How to hand brush a large kit without creating the ubiquitous brush strokes practice”.  lol!  I have a new found upmost respect for modelers that do not use rattle cans nor a AB.

This kit was recommended to me by M. Brindos first then by Model Maniac.  M. Brindos mentioned the high amount of detailing this kit has for a 1/48.  I was building the Tamiya 1/32 Mosquito during that time as I recalled and he mentioned; “Although it’s no where near the detail quality of the Mosquito build, but it is something I need to look into“, and I’m glad I did.  Model Maniac showed me his commissioned Tamiya 1/48 Ki-61 Hien (Tony).

The photo‘s he showed to me on a thread of this particular build inspired me to use the clear/visible fuselage.  This kit comes with two conventional fuselage if one chooses to build it in this fashion.  I might or will end up in your shoes as the paint scheme is something to think about.  A mottle over NMF.  I’ve never done anything like this before.

It’s FSM Forum Members like you that drives me as well as inspires me in my builds and I thank you for that!  I know I’m almost done and am contemplating my next build.  I’m thinking a Crusader from Trumpeter if they even make one or a 1/32 Wildcat as I don’t have neither of these kits in my collection.  Until then, I look forward to further discussions with you and I thank you for the support.  It means a great deal to me!

keavdog

Coming along nicely Toshi.  You certainly have skills with a brush!

Thank you keavdog.  Painting the Revell 1/48 B-17G Flying Fortress taught me a lot in utilizing and learning more about how to use a brush.  Now I really respect modelers that only use the brush to paint their kits.  Thank you for stopping by and giving me the support!

Your friend, Toshi

P.S.  So far on this kit, I have yet to use the AB.  I’m going to use the AB when I do the NMF and mottling.

Toshi,

great job so far on this fighter! I really dig the clear sided kits....I wish the B-17 I was working on came with one....I spent all that time on interior details and hardly any of it will be seen! Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one. The Tony is one of my all-time favorite Japanese fighters.

Also, GO PATS! And definitely post that guac recipie if you get a chance!

Thank you so much rocker286!  The visible kits are the best in my humble opinion.  I even cut open my $200.00 Tamiya 1/32 Mosquito’s cowling to show off the Rolls Royce V-12 Supercharged Engines.

As for your B-17G, Monogram has a 1/48 Visible B-17G Flying Fortress.  The one I’ve posted here was made two years ago with a full interior PE set by Eduard.

I’ve never heard of the Ki-61 Hien (Tony) until it was recommended to me from M.Brindos and Model Maniac.  I’ve also read that the lines of the Tony is as streamlined as a Fw190 and a Me109.

The Toshi Guacamole recipe as requested:

2 Avocados

1 Lemon

1 Jalapeno

1/2 Red Onion

tsp. Sea Salt

Directions, Dice everything to a minced consistentcy, except lemon and add in a large bowl.  Squeeze lemon juice and add sea salt.  Mix by hand to a chunky consistentcy.  Mrs. Toshi likes it like this, if you wish to have it in a smooth consistentcy, continue mixing.  I feel as a Executive Chef in that the flavors are much more prevalent in a chunky consistency.  Grab a bag of white corn tortilla chips and enjoy!

Thank you rocker289 for your support and read and reply.

Here is the left side of the fueselauge completed.  As for the right side, no prep will be needed as it will be clear/visible.  I’ll be assembling the Ki-61 (Tony) Hien during Super Bowl Sunday.  So sit back and have a relaxing Sunday.

For our food today, it’s just Mrs. Toshi and I so I’ll be making some fresh homemade Chef Toshi Recipe, Guacamole!  Dinner is thinly sliced Cornbeef.  If you want my Chef Toshi’s Guacamole recipe, just let me know and I’ll post it here on this thread.  Thank you forum members for your support.

All my years of collecting baseball cards, I was never able to acquire one of these:

'

I grew up on Harry Caray, Jack Buck and Joe Garagiola in the 1950s.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

That is old school money card!  That is a very cool card to own.  Those players are legends of BB.  Thanks for sharing fotofrank!

Thank you lawdog114!  Now that you own one in your stash, what if, if any will you be utilizing the visible fuselage or not?  Please let me know and if so why.  Each day, Mrs. Toshi seems to be improving with a slew of Anti-Biotics to counter the infection.  Thank you for asking on the welfare of Mrs. Toshi.  Your support touches my heart and means a great deal to me.

I'm buried in commissions right now, but when I do have a go at it, I'll use the normal fuselage piece.  I prefer my subjects closed up. I just snagged their new Bf 109 G-6 off ebay that I can't wait to dive into either.  Now if they could give us a state of the art P-38.

Your welcome regarding Mrs. Toshi and I'm glad she is responding to the antibiotics.

As a Steelers fan, I'm hoping the Eagles take out the cheats.  Unfortunately I don't see the refs allowing that to happen and they get their sixth *.  We have the Tuck Rule, Spy-gate, Deflate-gate, and now Ref-gate.....lol.   I'm sure there will be more -gates that haven't been discovered yet.

It’ll be the Super Bowl Gate!!!  lol!

I wish I still had my BB cards when I was a kid. I had a ton of them but slowly they vanished as I gambled them away with other kids. I had over 3 shoe boxes full of them. I also remember having cards from TV shows like Combat, The Rat Patrol, The Munsters and The Addams Family.

I remember having Mickey Mantle, Sandy Koufax, Yaz and Al Kaline. I had a few of the long Football cards, in particular I remember Johnny Unitas and even Broadway Joe, all worth some serious cash now but saddly long gone..

Please pardon my rambling but the cards thing took me back some. The Tony is looking great Toshi, that office looks busy..

I remember the days I had BB and FF cards as a child as well.  I used to stick some in the spokes of my bicycle wire rims with a clothes pin holding them making that rattling sound.  I used to collect those movie/TV show cards as well.  My favorite was Planet of the Apes and the original Star Wars cards.  Remember the Garbage Pail Kids cards?  lol!

You had some serious BB and FF cards.  I started to collect football cards again when I came out of the hospital.  It helped me with face recognition and organization with my TBI.  Once I graduated my disability in face recognition and organization, I got serious with card collecting hence the type of cards I currently own and enjoy.

Thank you for reminiscing with me on our childhood love of sports card collecting.  Thank you for the kind words on my Tony.  I greatly appreciated.

Progress is looking swell Toshi. I've been seeing these beauties being built on a couple of other forums as well. They look like some good kits from what I've seen.

I hope all continues to go well on the home front for you buddy. Just one thing.........tha Pates????? Awww man! I'm not much of an Eagles fan but dang. Somebody else needs a shot at winning the Super Bowl ya know.

Thank you mustang1989.  I’ve gone and googled this build and have been very impressed with what I’ve seen as well.  As far as a kit in of itself, it is an extremely detailed 1/48 kit.  Amazing unto itself.

lol!  Yes, the PATRIOTS!!!  I collect football cards as my other hobby.  I’m a insane fan of Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady.  I have rookie cards of Favre and Manning with autographs that have a street value of several hundred dollars a piece.  I even have rookie auto cards of Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson.

I also own a very rare Brett Favre 1991 rookie card (My best card in my collection) with a embossed Super Bowl seal at the top right hand corner worth over $600.00.  The only card of a rookie autograph I don’t own is one of Tom Brady.  I’d like to own one before he gets inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

That and knowing that Bill Belichek is one of the greatest football coaches of all time only second to Vince Lombardi in my humble opinion.  lol!  GO PATRIOTS!!!

Your humble rival, Toshi.  lol!

To my fellow forum members,

I just got done with doing Mrs. Toshi‘s IV antibiotics.  She takes this infusion once every eight hours (10:00am, 6:00pm, and 2:00am).  Also my grandson Ezra is spending the weekend with his mom so I have Saturday all day as a bench day and parts of Sunday to have some bench time as well.  The rest of Sunday will be dedicated to Super Bowl Sunday.

Eagles vs Patriots!  I got the Patriots winning the Super Bowl, they always find a way.  Whom do you think will win?  Let me know.  Until then, I added the gunsight, cockpit controls, and control stick to the ever growing and detailed cockpit Tamiya has so well engineered.  Let me know my fellow forum members what you think?  Good or bad.  Thank you so very much in advance and thank you for your dedicated SUPPORT!!!

What an exciting project and kit you're into this tim Toshi. I've certainly read wonderful reviews on this kit and in the hands of a master such as yourself this ought to make for an amazing build. I will be following along and getting me a fix on some eye popping goodness.

Cheers, Joe

Yes, thanks to M. Brindos and Model Maniac whom recommended this kit I purchased.  I’m most ecstatic in building this kit after Mrs. Toshi heals.  It’s always a fun ride when JOE RIX is following!  Thank you for your support in this unique build.

It is a very neat build as it’s a visible fuselage.  I’m ecstatic when it comes to visible styrene kit anything.  lol!  Thank you for following this build.  I really appreciated.

Very much so.  I’m going with the visible fueselauge that I’ll partially paint the rear end.  And to allow the cockpit and engine to be visible.  M. Brindos, thank you so very much for recommending this kit!

ManCityFan

Hey Toshi, sure didn't take long for you to dive into the next build.  That camo scheme looks a bit initimidating.  Glad you got that Iwata from Mrs. Toshi to tackle this one.  Definitely following this one!

D

Thank you ManCityFan “DMan”!  No it didn’t, I had a break from watching my grandson Ezra so I used that time to spend with Mrs. Toshi and the bench.  As for the camoflauge scheme it’s definately intimidating as well as tedious and surreal!  lol!

I too am not only glad but ecstatic that I can use the Iwata Eclipse, NEO for Iwata TRN1 Gravity Feed Trigger Air Brush, and NEO for Iwata Gravity Feed Air Brush.  Plus I have a HFT (Harbor Freight Tools) Chinese made Siphon Air Brush if needed.  All thank‘s to Mrs. Toshi.  I know that the TRN1 will be used for the camoflauge and the Eclipse for the NMF.

Thank’s DMan for always supporting my builds.  This means a whole lot to me.

keavdog

Looking forward to your build and plan for the camo.

Thank you keavdog.  The camoflauge or mottle if you will, will be challenging.  I’m already thinking of different ways in AB the mottling.  Thank you for the support.

Ok this one looks interesting. Not a huge fan of cutaways/clear sides, but looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Yes, I can guarantee it will be.  lol!  This will be an interesting build especially the paint scheme.  I’m still contemplating in painting the rear end of the Tony and only show the cockpit and the engine.  Thank you for your support.  I most appreciate it!

A quick dry fit confirms the position of the flight control assembly.

Nice! The Hien is such a good looking plane, very aesthetic.

Are you building it with the clear or regular fuselage?

Good luck!Smile

Yes, I’ve read a few reviews in that describes the Ki-61 as you so described it as; “Aesthetic“ as well.

I am building this particular kit with the visible fuselage.  I have a thing for aircraft kits with visible anything.  lol!

I am considering just painting the rear end of the “Tony” and have just the cockpit and engine visible.  But I have yet to decide on that scheme.  Thank you for the well wishes and the read and reply.

I will do my best to entertain forum members like you.  There is a great amount of detail in the cockpit, also the engine assembly looks really fun.

Thank you so very much scottrc for always, always following my threads and replying as well.
