Like many others, hadn't heard of AMG.

Thanks for sharing this WIP. Always fun to watch your works in process. A plus to get an almost live review of a new manufacturer too.

Nice save on the radiator. Kind of strange not seeing the radiators under the wings. I really like the look of these early versions, particularly the ones that have a shark mouth.

I know its been a while, working on 2 at a time has slowed things down. But finally able to get some paint on. I like the look of the 109 in this scheme, makes a change to the motteling or the blue high up the sides.

As you can see on the first pic above, the vinyl mask came away where the edge was on a curve in the canopy, just like the Montex masks. I am woundering if Eduard 109E masks would work on this, might have to try that. So i did need to clean up the canopy a bit with a polishing stick.

Then the decals went on, these went down very nice and i was pleased with the tail band, the red and white has gone down well over the dark paint.

It then got some exhaust streaks and a very light flory wash and a matt coat.

Really pleased with this kit. Ashide from the radiator cover and the masks, its been a joy to build. Will deffinetly be getting more, a Condor Legion C for starters.

Just a few final touches, landing lights, antenna cable etc and then i can add it to the base and sort out some figures.

She sure looks the business!  I like the red-banded swastika on the rear tail plane.

Thanks Chad. The tail was one of the things that drew to this kit as my first early 109.

Nice. I love how you managed to get the camo colors to almost blur together. It looks just like the old black and white pics where its hard to see the multi-tone camo. Very realistic look. Love it!! Well done.

Another brilliant build Bish!  I'm still amazed with what you do with 1/72 kits!  An inspiration to say the least!

Beautiful work of her Bish. I agree with you where the red band on the tail would have drawn me to. Looks amazing.

A very nice selection for your next German build. It was designed in the early 1930's, and I believe it was one of three of the main Luftwaffe bombers. A great aircraft.

It was indeed, at least early in the war. Production ended in mid 1940 as it was being replaced by the Ju 88 and its role as a bomber was coming to an end in 1941.

I already have an RS P model but they also do an E with the tail marking i want.

I believe they do all 4, A, B, C and D in 48th as well as 72nd.

I missed this...I will definitely have to be on the look out for those in 1/48. I've gone back and really studied your photos and I must say that the 109 is a great looking kit from AMG.

You are correct. After I read your post about the Do-17 I had to brake out the old aircraft history book and read up on it. The Ju 88 is a impressive aircraft also.

I know the RS P....what tail markings are you speaking of? I would like to look it up and take a peek at it.

This is the kit i want to get, has the same type of tail marking as the 109, with the National Socialist flag on it.

Oh wow Bish...that is a great looking kit. I really like the different paint schemes for it, but the red tail is the one I would choose. Now is the "E" version from the late 30's or was it the first version in 1940? I know that the Do-17Z was the most produced version. I still looking through my books as I type this, but what version(s) were used during the Battle of France and Battle of Britian? Was it the "F"?

The E and F were both produced from 1937 and used in Spain. The Z was already in use by the time of the Polish campaign, and i think was the main 17 is use during the BoB. The P was still is use as a recon aircraft, but i think the older bomber versions were being withdrawn.

The P i have i am doing in markings for the Polish campaign, i'd also like to get their F for a Condor Legion aircraft.

I am surprised RS have not done a 17Z yet, but then most of their kits do seem to be more obscure subjects.
