Steve,
I don't know if you were being serious with your question or kidding around, so I will err on the side of caution.
Those strut propellers are the "Jericho Sirens " in which the sound it produced was used to terrorize the impending victims. That sound has since been used by filmmakers, kids cartoons, and every other form manageable to represent the sound of a plane (jet and propeller) diving into a crash.

Modeling my world in 1:43 to 1:50... and a few other assorted scales
got the wings on now , just a lot of little bit's and piece's to go , and a lot of sanding .
can anyone tell me what this little propeller on the wheel strut is for , I think I read something about a siren , is that true ?
got most of the masking done too .
cheer's tojo , wish I had a big area to display , but ces le viv .
came across another fit issue , only about 4 mm out . I also had to cut the locating lugs for the radiator off , so i could position it properly .
all better now
steve5 thanks mopar and mustang , I will hang it next to my hawker typhoon on the left , in my hobby room , I'm vitually the only one who will see it anyway .

AAAHHH !!!! You mixed scales and genres in the same display !!!! I couldnt sleep if I did that.
Seriously though, your collection looks great, and this big bird is very impressive
thank's to everyone for the support , als , don't look at them mate , get into them ,
I've been doing this for a while , and the thing's I have learned through following what the member's have advised is incredible , if you stuff up , so what , put it down to experience , just have a go .
this baby is slowly coming together
Very nice!
I will be following this build closely as this exact same Airfix Stuka model was one of the aircraft that I had purchased in my first foray attempt at getting back into modeling around 5 years ago. I was enamored by the huge size plus one of my LHS at the time had several built aircraft and rocket kits hanging from the ceiling. Never did build it and sold it on FeeBay in 2015.
P.S. I haven't built a single kit since my current return to modeling last year, but have accumulated a small collection of 11 boxes to create a small stash.
Nice display. Love that Hurricane.

Great progress on a vintage classic!

At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
I remember this one in the hobby shop I used to frequent off of Valwood Parkway in Dallas. The box for it was HUGE!! I've always wanted to see one built up and now it looks like I've got my chance. Looking splendid so far Steve.
P.S. Where in the world are you gonna display this mammoth of a build??

Thanks bish , there are a couple of little fit issues with the kit , but I'm really enjoying this build so far
That engine is impressive.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
thank's goldhammer , I have done the hawker typhoon , 1/24 , it was a good kit .
got some paint on the engine , pity it really wont be seen .
I'll follow this one as it is in the stash. Looks nice so far. Have the Spit, Hurricane, Mustang and ME to go with it as well.
true snapdragon , just so long as they fix the instruction's , they are shocking .
When you look at this, the Airfix design guys should be champing at the bit to remake it!
thank's bish mate , hope I can keep it going .
the engine has a lot of part's , this should be fun to paint .
Thats looking nice.
the cockpit is mostly done , just a bit of weathering to do . won't get too excited about it , as the 2 pilots take up a fair bit of room .
Yes, the old Airfix instructions are not very helpful. I am doing a 1980's boxing of the belfast and find myself spending more time trying to find parts than i am putting them together. Unfortunatly they have not updated their instructions with their more recent release of this kit.
Despite its age this is still supposed to be a nice kit, i like the look of mine a lot.
I know where you are coming from ,SD , but at a third of the cost , I couldn't help myself ,
Welcome to the Airfix oldschool building! They are still selling their 70's designed kits from the original 70's moulds and it is not doing them any favours when you see the brand new Hellcat and the two Typhoons.
I do wish that Airfix would take their Spit, Hurricane, 109, 190 etc and redo them up to their current standard and make lots of people happy instead of frustrated!
I gave up on my 109 with warped fuselage, more flash than parts wonky Cockpit glass......
this is going to be a hard build . I bought it for a song , now I know why . 600 part's and most of them are of off the sprue's , but on the up side , the bag is still sealed . on the down side , this is the most stupid instructions I have ever seen . no sprue no's , just part no's . I mean part's 300 , 4 and 49 can be right next door to each other . this should be fun though .
