Look on Google Images as it shows Buzz Wagoner's #17 having the window. Are you going NMF, or ragged OD-41? The one on Wiki looks like the window was overpainted with OD-41.
WIP: Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 73rd BS B-26, 40-1408, torpedo bomber attempt on Ryujo
Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 22nd BG B-26, 7-Mile Drome, New Guinea

Very cool, like seeing the off the beaten path subjects!

I suppose I should dig into this subject further, Baron.
This is the only picture I've found where this window is present and it's from the 34th Pursuit in the Philippines.
No other picture shows this window and I painted over it. (Facepalm)
Anyone have any other ideas about why it's there?
This isn't the exact aircraft I'm building, so I think I'm in the clear (haha).

Cool! I look forward to following your build.
I've got one for my "Doomed at the Start" collection of American aircraft in the Philippines at the outbreak of the war.
As for that window, I have a vague memory of a story-possibly from the book, "Doomed at the Start", of someone escaping as a passenger in a P-35, curled up in that space. I may be misremembering something else.
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.
Let me start by saying thank you to my fellow forum members. Once again, I'm starting another kit even though I've got an A-24 in progress (don't feel like scratch building a cockpit right now) and a good itch for building armor.
I've been wanting to dig this kit out for a year and at a stress point recently, I had to just build. Most of you know that when you're at a point in your other builds where progress just isn't a simple step forward, you gotta just open a new box and get started. Well, that's where I was.
Last night I sprayed Vallejo surface primer and then the base cockpit color. I hope I make better progress on this build than the others I've been working on recently.
There's a clear window set into a hatch door on the right side of the fuselage that I thought was probably for a photo recon version. The only picture I have seen this far of a P-35 from the Philippines has that window, but is fully armed. I had already started sanding the window before I found that picture so I should've left that window alone as it was oddly present on the aircraft for some reason. Anyways, I had to blend it in and make it part of the door. That's all the progress I've made so far. Thanks for your interest and have a great day!
