I have a idea for two Duces, a TF-102 and the 102 I saw on the Twilight Zone.  It was from the 48th F.I.S.

Aggieman!

Did you ever go into a B-25 at a Confederate Air Force Air Show? If so you may have gone through my bird. I had to sell her back in the mid 80s . Aah, what memories. But everything in that office did work!

I don't believe so.  I did get to go through Fifi (the B-29) in '75-'76, and more recently, I toured the local wing's B-17.  I've told my wife that the top of my bucket list is a ride in one of these warbirds.  I had an opportunity to bid on a seat aboard a B-25 that was slated to do the fly-by at A&M's Kyle Field prior to a ball game, but I didn't bid high enough (I later learned that the winning bid for the nose position, which was the one I bid on, went for 5K - that's too steep for me).  That's cool that you owned an actual warbird.

Nice work on GW's ride. I have an Avenger in his father's markings that I need to get to someday. Thanks for Sharing.

Thanks lawdog!  Is that an Accurate Miniatures kit?  I think I might have the same release, or possibly the Flight 19 release.

I love the century series and Your F-102 is a super tribute to that old bird. I got a chance to sit in one thanks to a Sgt Maj. who lived across the street from me way back when that bird was new. I will never forget that experience and his repeated three word, "don't touch anything". By the way G. W. also flew the F-106, the other delta winged century series fighter.  Again, very nice job. And yes I'm one who faithfulyl watched the Steve Canyon TV series as well as Sky King, and don't forget the Air Power series (and Sea Power if your into water craft). That was some great TV for us airplane lovers. JAG was an ok series more recently. The first time I saw the abreviated title on the door of a military lawyer's office door I almost fell over laughing. Think about it JAG OFFicer!!!!

Thank you for your kind words! To have been allowed to sit in a -102 when new must have been quite an experience. While not quite the same, I was able to get seated in an old F-84 in Harlingen Texas in the mid-70s at an air show by what, was then known as the Confederate Air Force. But that -84 was completely open to public viewing, and nothing in that cockpit still functioned.

Cool build, Aggieman. Reminds me of the screaming F-102 in the opening of the old "Steve Canyon" TV series.

Thanks Drew!  I have no recollection of that series, maybe I'll look it up.

Nice build Aggieman! I like the lightly weathered look that you went with.

Any chance that you can buff out that giant’s fingerprint?

Thanks Stik!  I already was able to wipe away that fingerprint.  It actually wasn't embedded in the paint, as I initially feared, but seemed to be more residue from my weathering session and was not sealed on.

This is the ride of a man who would some day become famous

If I remember correctly (not always a sure thing), that same fellow also flew an F-100, in case you need an excuse to biuld another century bird.

I never saw that he flew the F-100, but I was not really looking at the time that I built the F-100.  http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/2/t/184395.aspx

I did that same ship in 1/72 scale with the Hasegawa kit.  I then sent it to the pilot at his D.C. home at the time.

I bet he really liked receiving that!

I recognize that Texan!  Probably my favorite of the century series birds. Nicely done sir!

Thanks Chad!  If I was going to name a favorite out of this series, I'd go with either the Super Sabre or the Thunderchief.

Great build. It's amazing how good some of those 80's Monogram kits were

Thanks for your kind words, Tempest!  What has always amazed me since I returned to the hobby is just how much detail one gets from a Monogram kit for a comparatively really good price.

Man, that is nice! Is your 104 going to be European or USAF?

Thanks! USAF. NMF with some colorful markings.
