That looks really good LD. The chipping looks very realistic and it’s not overdone either. In the later years, Jap aircraft paint peeled off the metal skin in big chunks as seen on period pictures so you did well. I have built several of these 1/48 Hasegawa Georges and are a delight to work with.

Thanks PJ.  It's overdone for my taste, but not in reality.  Indeed this was a great kit.

That's an odd looking engine. I don't recall seeing that one. Really nice chipping happening here. I need to get me some frickett fast. I like how you addressed the undersurface as well. What color did you do the two center panels in? I know panels like that tend to be more reflective than the other surrounding panels in general.

I'm so committed to Alclads as well but I'm seeing a lot of other metallics on the market. Have you been trying anything different lately?

Two Thumbs!!

Thanks Britt.  The Homare 21 was weird looking indeed.  I believe it powered the Ki-84 as well others.  Lots of power but very unreliable, like old Jaguar V-12s....lol.  Don't recall.  The underside is different shades of Alclad, Duraluminum, Aluminum and Dark Aluminum. I recently ran out, so I'm using AK Interactive Xtreme metal on the P-47 I'm doing now. I'm having mixed feelings about it.
