A model 1/72 Vac Form Blohm and Voss BV-222

Yes I added an extra 2in the title!

Had to sand her down with3 sheets of 100 grit ..bulkheads will be required.  

As is usual for me when I build large vac forms,there are gaps to be dealt with.I don't blame the kit,I blame me but at least I know how to fill the gaps.

    That extra Two threw me off. I like SeaPlanes and that one is in my stash. It's not Vac. Don't remember who did the kit. In 1/72 it's  a big Plane.

Seams  are under control.  

Ok got the wings and horizontal stabs together...minor putty required.. 

Ok main wing and horizontal stabs are installed..I put a 14 inch wooden wing spar through the fuselage to provide support.  

Wow, that's a lot of progress.  Looking good.

Thanks! Next I have to try to use the cowling parts that I cut out but will require a lot of clean up and adjustment to look good.might have to replace them.

It's me but my phone was hacked so I decided to use my legal name

Ok put in the engine nacelles(they can be upgraded later should I so choose).The instructions indicate that the Monogram or Frog DO 17 kits have suitable engine nacelles but at the time this kit was produced ,those kits were cheap and plentiful,not so much now .  

The instructions indicate that the wing floats retracted when in flight so I had to cut the scribed lines to make the float wells.A little tricky but I think I pulled it off...

It sure resembles Howard Hughes Spruce Goose! Pretty cool!  

Airbrushed the light blue underside...

Lots of surface area,had to load the color up three times!  

Oops, I hope this is information is not too late.  The BV-222's floats split and retracted both ways, kind of like how a He-177's main gear retract.  A weird, yet elegant way to cleanly stow away the floats.
