MiG-19S

Trumpeter MiG-19S in 1/48. First completion of the year, finished this one back in February. Not a stellar result, this one just turned into a slog even though the -19 is. one of my favorite Russkie birds. This is an Egyptian AF bird; the decals actually came from the Eduard boxing of this same kit. Chose this scheme because at that point I wanted a MiG-19 on the shelf but didn't feel like doing a NMF build. PE cockpit set and belts, Brassin wheels and LG covers.

The script on the right side of the nose says 'Mosul', if I remember right. This plane was part of a batch of MiG-19s supplied by Iraq, so the Egyptians named them after cities in Iraq.

As Christmas, my parents' parakeet used to say, "Pretty bird!"

Always enjoy seeing those Soviet designs in Middle Eastern colors. Such a wide variety of interesting schemes available. YesYesYes
