DO-217E-5 complete, with pics.

Finally finished up my "Biscay Raider" today! It was a great kit - the Pro-Modeler 1/48. I finished it up out of the box adding only Eduard seat belts for the pilot's seat. I didn't bother weathering. Lots of fun to build and I can honestly say there was not one major headache on this beauty. Thanks again to Swanny for the pics of his opened crew hatch with scratch ladder. I gave it shot, but the ladder came out kinda of sloppy - couldn't get the solder to cooperate.

Thanks for looking!

Ray

Very nice!  Impresssive build!  I never picked up the kit when I had the chance.  Good photography too!

That looks great. You know- I really LIKE the un-weathered look. That's a great looking model- the paint looks great, very clean build.

Looks great, antenna wire looks excellent as does the paint work on the glass nose. That's alot of small frame work to paint.

I don't know much about Luftwaffe aircraft, but the quality of workmanship is great.

Wow!! [wow] Great job!  I have this kit in my stash; I only hope mine comes out half as good as your's did.

You said you basically built this OOTB, but I tell you that the gear struts really stand out to me.  It appears that you added a coiled spring on each strut and your paint job lends a look of realism in this area.

Thanks for all the kind words!

The struts are stock. I just added Tamiya smoke to the covers and a bit of testors chrome enamel to the exposed portions. Don't know if its accurate, but hey, it sure looks cool!

I also had this kit in my stash for over two years before I gave it a shot. Glad I did - it was a great stress free build. Now I'm rescribing panel lines on the old Monogram 1/48 F-101 Voodoo. Back to "applied" modeling.
