My tiny Fw 190 D9 - Completed pics

I have a great amount of respect for anyone that builds this scale on a regular basis. Talk about tedious! What you think would be so simple actually was pretty difficult in some respects. The “big” thing was the small size… hard to hold with big sausage fingers to sand and trim without breaking and trying to mix paint in tiny little batches to AB. I think it to a total of 3 drops of paint to do the whole thing. Then there is the added build time from putting it down and just looking at it and saying, “AW… look how cute and tiny…”

But enough of that… here is the finished build. The kit is really great. Detail isn’t bad and fit is superb. I added some cockpit detail, new cowl flaps and antennas and foot step. Hope you like it. Comments and criticisms always welcome.

And lastly... with her two big sisters in 1/48 and 1/24

Welcome to the wonderful world of "squinty scale" - I build in 1/72 and smaller not because I want to, but because I live in a really small apartment!

Good job on the mottle camouflage, and I really, really like the lineup of all three 190s in the different scales.

"Squinty Scale"---I love it Big Smile [:D] It is not only a cure for the dreaded lack of shelf space... it helps the advance of the forehead to the back of the skull.... there were a few moments that didn't do my hairline any good[insert baldy smiley here]

Fine, fine work.

I love 1/72 scale. What is educational is doing something like a 1/72 GeeBee Racer and a 1/72 Lockheed Constellation, the difference in size is exponential although the same scale!

Also doing my 3 tanks in 1/72, just to keep up apples-to-apples size comparisons.

That being said- WOW! Are you SURE that isn't 1/144? Wait, I just saw the penny... Are you sure that isn't photoshop? Laugh [(-D]

What an awesome job on the piant scheme. I routinely build 1/72 aircraft, and it's very difficult (without fancy masking techniques) to achive a "scale" paint scheme. I can't imagine how tough it was to paint something half that size! The Fw 190D paint schemes aren't that easy to do in the first place. Very nice work.
