I aim to please. Would I let you down.

Lucky dancing on the wing of his 109 after a safe landing.

profile view of one of lucky's aircraft, note the 4 leaf clover.

After the war there was no work for a ex fighter pilot leprechaun, but he did manage to fine work in the states as a popular cereal icon.

I don't know if you can get your hands on these books they are both by John Weal and both are published by Osprey publishing.

The books are Jagdgeschwader 54 "Grunherz" and "German aces of the Russian front".

Both have the same profile but there many profiles to choose from.

Good luck

Here is an F-2 of his.....sans the leprechaun....couldn't find that mod...cuz you know that the 'pit would have to be modded for a vertically challenged person.

May I suggest, if your able, that you visit the JG 54 Green Hearts home page at

www.jg54greenhearts.com . It will give you some information on pilots, group emblems and some art work.

The  colours used by JG 54 varied but Nowotny's Bf 109F appears to have the non-standard segmented camouflage (of two-tone green, possibly RLM 72and RLM 73 or tan and green).

The camouflage pattern is safe. You can extend it from one side over to the other side. Not many people are able to tell you that it is wrong. Upper surfaces were the standard luftwaffe pattern.

To my knowledge that is no right side pic of Nowotny "white 8". This is the most modeled 109 flown by him (he flew several 109's). At this time on the eastern front 2 most common day fighter camo for the upper wings were the striped splinter and the block splinter. Most of his unit F's wore the block camo. It is generally accepted that his "white 8" also wore the block pattern. Now due to a great many factors like almost all luftwaffe patterns this varies from ship to ship. Most of the time the wing camo was a hard line where as the fuselage camo was hand sprayed and thus a soft line camo. Ths block camo was used from the F vaients all the way up to late G varients and is the mosrt often seen day fighter 109 camo.

This pic shows a striped splinter camo.

this pic shows an F-4 with the block pattern splinter camo. probably becasue there is a square right in the middle of the R wing.

Here is a illustration of the block pattern.

Like Kifinger stated with the fuselage camo just take it down the other side using the right side as your reference. The pattern will be wider and thinner, maybe even comming to a point. This is common for luftwaffe splinter camo. Jusr follow what you already know about it.

JWB, you just want me to say the 109's are majically delicious so you a poke fun at me. You know what? If they made a Messerschmitt cereal that had little 109's,190's, and 262's inside I would collect them all. What can I say.  In my defence I am building a corair right now.
