44Mac- could this be the sheet?

http://www.modelingmadness.com/scotts/decals/super/ss48110.htm

MicroScale 48-110- it's the last aircraft on the bottom of the sheet pictured.

I'm afraid though with a number range that low it's been out of print for years. You might check ebay or luck out and find one at a model show but it's going to be hard to find.

Modeling Madness lists lots of lizard scheme Phantoms though so maybe you can find something else that tickles your phancy?

Thanks for the reply Gamera. Can't seem to find what I'm after. Maybe I'll just go with the Euro paint, RS tail code,  two nukes, two 30mm gun pods, and the perfect soundtrack. Du, Du hast mich...

MFJ -- The F-117 was also rigged to carry the B-61 internally, and my memory jogs that either the Monogram or Tamiya Nighthawk (probably Monogram) featured that munition along with an LGB or two. You might be able to scrounge one from someone who's built a Nighthawk with the bay closed.

I'm more than a little surprised that (at least according to the Modeling Madness list, which I consider pretty comprehensive) no one makes a sheet for 1/32 F-4E's. Looks like this will have to be kit decals.

Just poking around Dupes I found a set from Zotz on Squadron's site:

http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=ABZ32004

Review:

http://www.zotzdecals.com/reviews/zotz32004/zotz32004.htm

Not cheap but they look pretty cool.

And Aussie decals does a sheet if you'd want to do a 'down-under' Phantom - A3206

Anyway just a few extra options for you.

Ooooh, nifty. Shame they don't do any Euro-1 markings.

There isn't much info on the Aussie sheet...are their '74 era birds painted the same as SEA camo?

Okie dokie.  If this Testors F-4G wasn't the only F-4 I had I'd.....Super Angry  It should be "Test-your-will", not "Testors".  I have a Has F-4 I did a while back on the bench so I can compare as I go along.  The Testors F-4 might as well be called something else since it is such an oddball.  I sure am learning the art of FILLER as well.  It might be inaccurate (I wouldn't know if it was) when complete, but it is going to look nice!  I'll post a couple progress pics up later tonight.  Just wanted to vent.  Chris

If you are going to build that kit, at least get a set of AM seats.  The kit supplied seats look nothing at all like the MB-MK 7 seats used in the F-4.  In fact they don't even look like any seat on any aircraft.

Hi Dupes,

Our F-4Es were on loan as an interim measure while we were waiting for our -C model F-111s to be delivered. We had Phantoms for about two years and many in Australia were very sorry to see them go as they represented a versatility and capabilty we had never had before and never had again until our F/A-18s came on strength in the early '90s. Many folks reckoned the Mirage and Aardvark combo was a tactical error and we should have bought a couple of hundred Phantoms instead -- in fact an unpdated Super Phantom was an argued competitor for the tactical fighter replacement program in the 1980s, though in real terms only the the F-16 and F/A-18 were in the running.

Our Phantoms flew in their original SEA camo and carried the RAAF roundel in the same fuselage positions as the US insignia, though I believe we had wing markings both sides top and bottom, as has always been standard here.

Cheers, Mike/TB379

Got a couple Hasegawa seats coming from a fella on ARC, should be a big improvement.  Thanks for the tip.

Yes and there is one at Point Cook RAAF museum. Don't know if it's an original or not but there is at least an E model in RAAF markings. Can't help but think, If the RAAF had the F-4's instead of the F-111's, they would have been replaced much sooner, and i would not have been able to take shots like these in 2009!!!

I like to say with the last one they went out of the airshows in a blaze of glory!!! Anyways I do love the F-4 and hate to see ANY great aircraft be retired!!!!

CAM Decals makes one set in 1/32 scale.

Thanks Arki, I knew there had to be more decals in 1/32 out there.

Dupes, sorry I don't have any references on Aussie Phantoms other than just Googling it. I've never used Aussie decals so I can't testify to their quality. I'm just throwing out some more options for you.

Finally got my F-4EJ painted and ready for some Future and decals. I was coming along fine until I had some paint peel off when I removed the masking for the upper surfaces and metallic bits. It's been years since I had low-tack tape take off the paint, I guess I didn't wash the model enough before I laid down the lower paint. Well, it's repainted now and I'll try to get some photos up before too long.

No paint again for me today. It's raining again.

I guess instead I'll work on my Airacobra for the Soviet group build.

Shoot, those are pretty decent too...again, SEA scheme.

The only reason I'm tending away from that type for this E is that a) I have a Tamiya 1/32 C/D that's destinied to be a D in SEA scheme, and b) I have some great reference shots of a NJ ANG bird that fits these decals almost perfectly (not the same BU no, but awfully close).

Now I just need a big G or something to get a nice Hill Grey scheme on the shelf...Big Smile

Oh, and a great review of the Revell E kit (might help out their other variant builders as well):

Oops, I missed the earlier Euro 1 focus.

It's a sweet camo scheme, but as you've discovered nigh impossible to find in 1/32.  Afterburner Decs make some nice Euro 1 schemes...in 1/48.

Looks like your stuck with the kit decals, or perhaps scrounge up enough basic stencil sheets to do your own.

Good luck.

Well, finally got some OK weather today, so I got the primer on it. I almost always use Duplicolor #DAP1692 auto primer. I have not yet found any top coat incompatible with it. Almost had disaster though. I get fumble fingers sometimes, and almost dropped it, and broke the doo-dads off the vertical stabilizer. No biggie, I'll drill holes with my pin vise and install wire stock. They will be stiffer anyway.

I think simpilot was alluding to the Hill Grey paint scheme (which it turns out you aren't doing!).

Anyone got a pic of that scheme? Arki - something like what you've got above for the Euro 1?
