It is gonna last for over a year, so if you wanna tackle the F-82 (Revell is slated to reissue the old Monogram 1/72 kit later this year) there should be time for this.

Macattack, you are added. We have plenty of time for a choice of kit.

Really looking forward to this GB!  I have yet to build a Sabre, and I think now is the time to do so.

OK Stik, I figured it out.  I will "attempt" to build the Italeri H-19 in 1/72.  I was going to  get the Fonderie Miniatures HO3S-1.  I see that Helo is building that chopper from Mach 2.  I figured I will do my part to get as many different subjects in the GB.  

I will start this in a little while as I have another GB commitment that involves a Revell 1/48 B-1B Lancer.  As soon as I want to throw that kit against a wall I will start the H-19.  This is my 2nd helicopter so be easy on me.  haha.

If the build doesn't kick-off for 2 weeks, then I'll wait, as I would like to get more research done. A perfect excuse to watch M*A*S*H from the pilot episode to "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen" and watch Hawkeye pull a fast one on Frank (like the classic, locking him in a box to ship home)

I guess technically I will be building an HRS-2.

I'll be building either a Tamiya Mig15 or Tamiya M26, both 1/48. It all depends which I get my hands on first. Going to a distant hobby shop in a week or two to see what they have, otherwise I'll have to resort to ebay again.

Helo, Bondo, Macattack, the roster has been updated. WW2psycho, once you have whatever kit in your hands, let me know. I would say, get both... Or if you are insisting on a Tamiya kit, there are lots of other great ktis by Tamiya that qualify.

I'd like to join this group build also.  I participated in the 1st Korean War Group Build but never completed my 2nd build which is the Monogram 1/48 A/B-26-B Invader with the Eduards' Big Ed set plus the Quickboost engines and cowls.  It is approximately 25% complete with a long way to go.  Let me know if this qualifies.  Thanks!

Steve, as long as you plan on finishing it in markings of one of the Bomb Groups during Korea it is more than welcome.

Since this is a Korean War GB, can anyone help me identify a movie I remember seeing? I'm pretty sure it was based on Korea. All I remember is it was black and white, and this one pilot had a spotter type aircrafy that he thought of putting a radio in and he called in an airstrike from some jets on some North Korean tanks. Does it ring a bell to anyone? Its been a long time since I've seen it and thats all I can really tell you.

Stik,will comit with the kit I have already started and that is the Italeri F4U-4B. Believe this will give me the kick in the pants I need to finish her. Will post pics soon of previous progress and then WIP shots. Have an Engines and things resin mill which i doctored up the front and an Eduard zoom set for the office plus a few other bits. Going to drop the flaps and hang ordanance. Looking forward to seeing the great work that will be present!!!!

M1, I have read that M47s were field tested in Korea, but they were not mainstream equipment. If you have anything you can point me towards that shows one of those M47s, I say go for it. If it was in theater during combat, go for it.

4th in the honor of General Robinson Risner, a personal hero of mine. His book on his capture by the North Vietnemese, The Passing of the Night,  is a must read for those interested in POW topics. It's one of those book to read when you think YOU'RE life sucks. What our POW's went through is unthinkable.

Stik, the F4U-4B is 1/72. I have a set of AM decals for it and will be in the markings of a Marine squadron synonymous with the bent wing bird, VMF-214.

Sim I am always amazed by those who can do that sort of work in 1/72! I will update the roster for scale on your build. I like your choice of the markings, the Blacksheep. Certainly a squadron with lots of history with the F4U. Only 11 days till kickoff.

I did manage to obtain a turned metal barrel for my Centurion over the weekend at the local AMPS chapter meeting (along with another Centurion, which I plan to build as a 1956 Suez tank) So now I have everything I need for the tank. I still want to get a TC figure from Ultracast to replace the kit TC.

Thanks Stik and Mucker!!! I actually started this kit, as I said, during the Corsair GB a couple years ago only because I was waiting on some PE to come over from the Ukraine for my Swordfish. Then after getting the PE concentrated on the Stringbag and after cutting the flaps off of the Corsair my enthusiasm waned and just put it away until I am ready to tackle it again, and the time is near as I keep having the visions of it setting with full ordinance and flaps dropped ready to ruin somebody's day. Going to also be working on other projects as we all do but the year long stint should be time enough even for me lol. Looking forward to seeing all the great work that's in store for us all!!!

After looking through the stash, I'm finding many of the kits I was considering don't have Korean war decals, so I'll plan on starting with the 1/72 Hasegawa F9F-2. It includes decals for VF-781 which was deployed to Korea with F9F-2s on the Bon Homme Richard CV-31 from May-Dec 1951.
