I'm revved but I have to finish a F-15I Academy. I'm really sick of Academy kits! I hope the Tuumpy F9F-2 is less filling and sanding.

yeah, just under a month to go. unfortunately ill probably be  a late starter as ive got a skyhawk to finish as a display model in the mean time.

Don't feel bad. You're not the only one who's running way behind. I haven't even closed up the fuselage on my Osprey yet. LOL!!

I guess I'll start at the beginning.  Put me down for an Academy F4F-4 in 1/72.  Got kind of jazzed as I was inventorying the stash and found that somewhere along the way, I'd picked up the Hasegawa double boxing of the Cougar and Tiger.  Now I can do one of each except for the Agcat, and scratchin that one in divine scale just don't sound like fun at the moment.

Think I'm going to have to throw my hat into the ring on this one...

I've got a beautiful Eduard F6F-3 that's been sitting in the stash watching jealously while kits for other GBs cut in line! Maybe this will calm it down and keep it from shivving the La-5...

Aah, september 1stBig Smile.... Fresh from work and ready to roll!

From the look of it i will be having just as much fun with this Hellcat as i had with Hobby Boss'es Wildcats:

Great OOB detail inthere; certainly considering the price i paid for it.

Options for two aircraft are provided:

I will be building McCampbells "Minsy III":

Ok,.... no time for chit chat nomore, im off to the bench aka mancaveWink

Richard - that Hobby Boss Hellcat looks very pretty on the sprue! Can't wait to see it come together.

Also can't help noticing several engineering similarities with the Wildcat kits...which so far I'm really digging.

I just started two yellow wing Wildcats for the NMF group build. If crossovers are welcome, could I toss those in with the Hellcat?

Awesome! In that case sign me up for two 1/48 HobbyBoss F4F-3 Early Wildcats.

Just got started trimming and test fitting the interior parts last night.

So far I'm totally digging the way these kits are engineered.

Started on my F7F last night, pits are done.  I'll update my post a pic this evening.  Not sure of a sheme yet, going to look around.  Saw a cool pic of a drone controller with a drone under each wing, maybe I can scratch a couple up and find some suitable markings.  Hmmmmm

No, I wonder what the rear pit looks like inside???  One thing I found said the screen and canopy are from an F8F, I'll have to dig one up somewhere.

Nice progress guys. im likin the scheme on that f7f. Cant wait to see more. I hope we get a couple racer mods or something in. Its gonna be a bit boring if everyone does navy schemes lol.

I'm planning to try to kick off a Yellow Wing group sometime early next year. Not only pre-WWII, but positing a "what-if" where the scheme was retained as a sort of ceremonial scheme, similar to the F-16 the Texas ANG did up for its 90th anniversary.

Could inspire some fun crossovers with this GB!

Mikey, I'm still having trouble deciding what to do, however, in my decision making process I broke open the F9F from Monogram in 1/48.  It'll be a "boring Navy scheme" however, I'm thinking that I'm going to do a British Hellcat.  Maybe two.  One will be British Navy.  If I do the other, it would have some D-Day markings.  I guess we'll see.

Pictures of the Panther when there's something to take pictures of.  Don't worry.

Oh, on the front page you have me listed in the build list twice.  The first time you've got nothing for me while the second you have me building a 1/48 F4F from Eduard....  There is no F4F from Eduard.  It would be an F6F.  It's all good though.

Ok Mike ill fix that now. Sorry about that.

Just to clarify i didnt mean navy schemes were boring, just meant if everyone did navy schemes it might start to get a little repetitive.

That could certainly look pretty cool Doog. Would look awesome if someone did an F-14 that way.

Started the Recon Panther today.  I have made some easy progress.  All the seam work will be up soon.  I forgot to bring my camera today, so no pics.  So far, so good.  Question though, does any body know if the panther ejection seat had the striped rings up top that are seen on so many ejection seats?  I also forgot to bring my Panther in Action book today too.  I don't remember seeing that shown in the book though.  Any help is appreciated.

As for some different looking tigercats, Lonestarmodels has some neat firebombers, and a drone controller.

Cheers,

Greg
