Preshading is a tecnique actually i cannot perform! good looking on the hayate Trey Stick out tongue

Updates some ,on the nate

heres the microscopic ip, just blackened , scratched on the instruments with a needle and put gloss clear to simulate glass. A white drybrush needed after.

Engine and the castle drybrushed with silver, clossed the fuselage and the work'n'progress cockpit

as i presumed the machine guns don't fit as the instruction says; i'll put after glued the cockpit/wings complex.

Just shows what a newb I am. Trey I would have thought you would have sprayed the yellow and anti-glare after you were done with the other colors. Dunce

Here's my Betty I was too far along with when this gb started. The tail markings are leftovers from an old Tojo (i think) (1/48) kit, but look good (to me) on the 72nd Betty.

On the bench: 72nd scale P51D, P47D Razorback

Gamera,   I was out and bought some ModelMaster Japanese Aircraft colors the other day,  so I imagine that a little Gamera sitting on my shoulder was saying, "Japanese Group Build, must join!".  So, with that lame story, I would like to submit my request to join up with you guys.  I'm not sure what I'll put the paint on yet, but I bet it will be green and dirty.   I think the GB's have offered me the most enjoyment here on the Forums.  Rick

Trey: Wow, she's coming along nicely. Impressive work as always.

Bsyamato: Nice detail on the cockpit and I really like how you've done the control panel.

Tigerman: I don't think it really matters when you paint the antiglare panel. I always do the yellow leading edges on the wings first and mask them though since I can't ever get yellow to cover anything. Just paint the leading edges white (which oddly seems to cover better for me than yellow), then the yellow, and mask.

Noah: Wow! Sharp work, are you going to post her over in the aircraft forum? Sorry if you already did I didn't catch her.

WabashWheels: I hope it was the angel Gammy on your shoulder and not the devil Gammy (who keeps telling me to buy models even though I've got more stuff in my stash than I'll ever have time to build). Welcome aboard, I'll put you down on the roster- just yell at me when you decide what kit you want to do. With the new one year time scale you've got plenty of time.

Masking is the one thing I'm not looking forward to on future A/C. I can get away without any on my early war Zero.

HabaneroHal: You don't have to call me Mr. - Gamera or Cliff are both fine! May I call you Hal or what would prefer?

We'd be glad to have you! Is it the 1/72nd or 1/48th kit?

Thanks everyone appreciate the kind words and Nice Betty!

Bsyamato looking good ,scratch stuff always a plus !

Eric ,no you're not a newb with  a join date of 2003 and 18k+ posts lol,and the grey is the actual color I'm using for this so you not off with the color sequence at all.

I did get the basic decals on,got a few smaller ones to go and I can wash the panel lines.

Nothing fantastic but here is my pit. Of note the Control column is a bit rough due to the CATastrophe, and my scratch building skills

Trey: That tail marking is badass.

Hercmech, looks great to me.

Yes on both counts.

Trey: yes I've been here awhile Whistling.........but when it comes to doing an A/C, then yes, very newb. The last I built was an Arii Tony about 14-15 years ago. I painted with a brush and didn't do the canopy. LOL This time, I'm going all in.

Hercmech thanks, your pit is looking really awesome and the control colomn is fine nice scratch building !!!btw I have a nice crossbow that does cat-kakobs nice and quiet if ya want to borrow it;)

Jason like the way the finish on the George is going already!

Noah thanks glad ya like it!

Eric I've eyed your armor builds with envy ever since I've been on here,if you build aircraft as good we're all going to have to set the bar higher!

I'm not 'beating' this one up as bad as the Zeke so a suttle chipping was all I did.

Nice updates guys Crying i'm out from workbench from 2 days !!!

Will recover this weekend.

Trey not so much scratch on the nate Embarrassed till now just added 3 rods, probably need to put some wire on the engine at least. the Frank came out really good and with a nice coloring.

Herc the dinah is officially on my wishlist (hoping to find some offer at low price on internet, i can't justify the hasegawa\tamiya prices):   the cockpit looks good Yes

Last night watching some ww2 army aircraft documentary on the tube i see lots of intresting subjects out of the most famous

Trey,

Looking great as usual! I think you nailed the amount of weathering perfectly.

///////////////////

bsyamato,

It is a better kit than I can do justice. I bought it at a show for $12.50. It is the only kit I have bought and actually started on within the week.

Jason

so far from afar george looks good painted Yes

Herc nice score price !! the only hasegawa i get at low price is the good f-104g at 10 €

the lower dinah i see till now comes about 18 or more € Tongue Tied

i keep open eyes on these japs kits. Also see an amodel kit for the ki-32 but sure not a good quiet build to do.

today glued the tail surfaces and in war with the intricate underwing cockpit\fuselage fitting Bang Head sanded and cutted something to make it fit good but actually nate wins Lightning At least the front bulkeads with engine castle seems fit good. This night another attack and some picture of casualties

That's an awesome build, however, I doubt the Betty could have withstood so much damage.

Thanks for the link Herc, that is one beautiful dio! Though I'll agree with Tigerman that due to the Betty's lack of self-sealing fuel tanks I'm not sure one could survive being shot up this much.

Hal: Looking forward to your photos!
