Jason the Raiden is looking great, nice clean build!

Hercmech thanks, that really sucks about the decals how old are they? I use testors spray on decal bonder on the really old ones and it does work you just have to trim them really good. I know thats no help now that they're already toast.

Cliff thanks its still trial and error have'nt done many nmf jobs

Bsyamato I did'nt think it could get better but those outside shots really bring it to life, you should do a couple retro black and whites as well.

GRL office looks great,nicely done!

Jailcop great work its suttle and yet still captures the essence of the subject, great job you should be proud of that one!

I spent some extra time masking off 3 different shades of metalizer, stainless, magnesium and aluminum plate. Then I used the grey green on the flight controls. Hopefully this will break it up a bit and give it some depth in the finish

Love your Zero Jailcop.  Good job on the panels. Question though: shouldn't the cowl be more of a semi-gloss black though? Were you opting for a faded look?

Jailcop: If you want to fix the issues, take some more photos and have me use one of those as the front page please just let me know, it's no problem at all to swap them out.

Bsyamato: Love the B&W photos- I went ahead and switched it for the earlier photo. Do you want me to put down the Val as you next model? I think it was the 1/72nd Fujumi kit? If you've got your heart set on the Mavis please by all means go ahead but frankly I don't think it's worth 38 euros (checked and that's over fifty bucks US). I'll see about posting some photos of my kit if you want to see it but it's not that great a kit.

Trey: The different NM panels look great!

Trey:

Another nice metal finish, loving the sublte panel effects

The decals were printed in 1996. This is the first time I have had decals disenigrate on the paper. I did try to use the micro decal film stuff. Maybe I should have tried the Testors stuff. But I have new ones on the way we'll see howw they work out.

 Gamera:

Bsyamato: Beautiful job! Posting your last photo to the front page if that's good with you.

Big-Z: Sharp looking cockpit! Like most nicely detailed cockpits it's a shame you won't be able to see much of it once the plane is closed up.

yes, it work Cool

and here come the raiden Jay Yes

i'm surfin between the fujimi kits for the next ( at the end the lower cost between 1/72 kits Huh? )

try to fit more than one or two in the same order and keep an acceptable final price with supplies.

candidates are the va, the claude, the ida and the jill! what's your advice between these subjects?

If i go crazy i can consider this aargh!!!

not yet decided gamera Sad i only corrected the previous list, write in wrong way  as you see above, called the "val" as "va"  Propeller

these the lonk to the kits

the Val

the Claude

the Ida

the Jill

talkin' with a flickr modeller friend that build the claude these kit is not so bad, also it's hard to find these kit, and this site seems have good stock of them (i get there the nate)

Bsyamato: They all look great - guess I like the 'Ida' a little more than the others since you don't see models of it often.

hey guys im posting from my phone again while away at work so it may be difficult to read lol.  thanks to all for the kind words on my zero.  this has definitely been the most detail, in depth model ive done in my short stint as a modeler.  for those that commented on the engine cowling, that was semi gloss black, but turned gray for some reason when i sprayed the final coat of flat base on it, i dont know why, maybe a bad reaction with the future.  i plan to repaint it when i get home this weekend.  as for the antenna, it was such a pain in my ass that i doubt im going to do anymore with it, and chalk it up as battle damage lol, and as a lesson to leave small outer parts like that until the end.  i also damn near broke the pitot tube off more than once.  once again thanks for the feedback and sorry for the text block, damn smartphone isnt very smart!

Jailcop if the humidity was high moisture in the air will cause the darker colors to 'haze' or 'milk' a simple fix would be a quik spray of semi gloss

Cliff I was hoping to replace my Ki84 Frank pic with this upgraded one I fixed a 'propblur' on and toned down the exhaust stains(they seemed a bit much to me) thanks in advance

Bsyamato: No problem at all, I'll wait till you tell me to go ahead. You still haven't gotten the Breguet 693? Wow, it's been awhile now.

Jailcop: Well, my English teachers probably wouldn't approve but I can read your post just fine. Wink

Trey: Sure, photo swapped out.

Anyway, finished the paint on the Suisei and put the gloss coat on tonight. Hopefully will get to the decals (my favorite part!)  this weekend.

Very nice shading you got going on. I assume that is a post shade?

Thanks guys! Embarrassed

Herc: I think the term is pre-shade here though I get pre-shading and post-shading mixed up. Anyway I painted the aircraft duck egg blue (any light grey would work, it's just that I have about a dozen bottles of the stuff- don't remember buying them, don't know where they came from) and shaded the panel lines with dark grey on the bottom and black on the top. Then I painted the top coat on just heavy enough to be able to see a little of the shading underneath.

Alrighty then, started kit # 2...Hasegawa G3M "Nell"...1/72 scale. First thing I did was dip the clear parts in Future, let `em cure for 48 hours and then masked them...YIKES!  Tiny.

...not perfect but pretty good I think.

Started working on the interior...

One of the engines...

Picture off the kit box...

...hope it turns out as good...Big Smile.

Thanks for looking,

You`re a funny man my Italian friend! I swear, this is the last 1/72 I`m doing for a long time...didn`t want to make Gamera change the lineup again..Wink This one shouldn`t be as bad as the Emily, fit seems pretty good so far...then it`s back to my favorite scale...1:48.

Yep, that`s the ONLY reason I`ll buy a 1/72 kit these days, interesting or not-oft modeled subjects. I like building fighters too but how many Zeros and Mustangs can a person build!?! Those bomber windows are way bigger in 1/48!

Well I do have a few bombers in 1/72nd but they're American and British mostly. Haven't done any in a while because of just that- masking those darn greenhouse canopies.

I think the interior looks pretty good, plenty of detail and it looks close to photos I've seen of the one surviving aircraft. Only bad thing I didn't like about the kit was how FineMolds uses one fuselage for the regular in-line engine and the late radial engine aircraft. The front add-on parts for the cowling didn't seem to fit all that well. Still, a little Mr. Surfacer and sanding took care of it, I did lose a little detail though.

Uh...NO! Had a hard enough time with my 1:48 scale Dinah!

My tips are the usuals....new # 11 blade, bright lighting, no caffeine and plenty of valium....Big Smile

Wasn`t too bad, took my time and it came out ok. Thanks for the kind words!
