Bsyamato: Happy you're enjoying the GB. Nice job on the Claude- the red tail looks great with the aluminum plane.

The red-tail is a very nice contrast to the NMF.
Eric
Gamera, I'm itchin to put something else together in this GB. I'm going to dig around in the stash to see what I can come up with. Rick.
Rick, Sounds good!
I really need to get back to work on my Zero when i get back from vacation.
God I've been gone way to long. There has been great stuff done, now to get motivated
Jason
Ok guys, I heading off for vacation/holiday tomorrow (Sat.) I'll be back in about a week and a half, so if anything comes up hang on to you hats till then.
make vacancy for me too Cliff!! I need to waith till august at least
3 or 4 days painting the claude with this strange mix ,trying to match the real effect
and this the result, had lots of problems with the under silver coat, never really dry
rtoo speed makes ugly results, too relax don't make results
I was kind of looking forward to the NMF. Oh well, I'm sure it wil look fine.
theres was lots of Claude with NMF Eric but not this box. Decals includes 3 planes with the yellowish metal
I'm going for the box art plane ,pilot Matsuo Hagiri on the Soryu carrier in the 1939
As i read somewhere, planes was originally NMF but the action of the sea toned it to yellow
For sure i want in future another one or two version of this same kit to use other camouflage included some shiny NMF
If all goes right must looks like this:
Actually painting another layer glossy, probably able to put decals this afternoon
Decals on, some break and one of black large bands destroyed not too happy with the general looking of the finish, evalutating to remove paint and restart but here the actual state of claude
so..
Automatic paint chipping during the masking for the black band, then returning back!!!
Now i'm constrained to go with one of other two planes in NMF included in the decals, tail will keep the red but now need to paint the hinomaru
Ahh man that sucks!

Oh man, those markings were so cool too. Tough break.
LOL ! yes was a pretty version
Already at good point with repairs, the thinner i used to remove paint break lots of glued parts, but i accept the challenge!! The zero was more strong when removed paint than this one !!
Re-glued the claude and repaired some plastic break/hole with plastic inserts and some tamiputty cure
After sanding and rescribe panel lines in deeper way here actual state
Not in picure but added the ignition wires to the engine
You have my support, that is a ton of work, best of luck with it and I bet it turns out great. After this if you feel under-challenged.... just pick up the Mono B-36.
Science is the pursiut of knowledge, faith is the pursuit of wisdom. Peace be with you.
On the Tarmac: 1/48 Revell P-38
In the Hanger: A bunch of kits
Bsyamato what a shame it was a cool looking scheme,I know it will come back even better. Looks well on the road to recovery already!!!

Right now repairing a break near the wing tip
Hey guys, I'm back!
Gee whiz Bsyamato, that sucks! She was coming along so well, good save though!
Wellcome back Cliff
The save continues
the white as base this time and again the red tail, was same on all three decals options
test fitting of the engine
finally the engine cover structure on the front done
and first layer of silver
and two version of same angle with and withouth
that's all for the night
Looks like you are saving it great bsyamato
Thanx Herc
Today second silver layer and third of red, withouth masks on LOL also the new colors arrived!!
but crossing fingers because discovered that enen the two optional planes was with the same gold type finish
Yeah, nice work on the Flash Claude! I like the gold scheme- it really stands out.
Hope this time will be better, already prepared a silvered surface as test
here more
Don't let the claude alone!! wheres the other wips?
Looking good bs.
Nice looking job on the natural metal there Bsyamato
I'm going to try to get back to my much delayed Zero when I finish my A-20, she's coming along fine, shouldn't be too long I hope

Oh heck yeah! We've still got six months to go for the GB.
Is the Zero finished though? If either is less than 50% assembled you're more than welcome to enter it.
Cliff
I haven't started the Yamato (was going to get PE but decided against) but the zero was finshed a couple mmonths ago sorry. I will look for some more Japanese kits. Also how to get badges and show them as this is my first GB.
