Here it is. I've gone for a lightly weathered look. I don't have any photos of this aircraft but I am imagining the pre war aircraft maintenance regime to be quite good, despite the tropical environment in Hawaii. I'll add the guns once they arrive. Hope you like it.

Extra work on this little Airfix kit is a pitot from Microtube, Quickboost exhausts, an etched instrument panel, harnesses from masking tape with etched buckles.

The Starfighter Decals were good, glossy, robust, thin, easy to apply, with just one decal silvering. The buzz number 160 was larger than depicted on the instructions. Incidentally, this same aircraft is now depicted in the 'dogfight doubles' release of this kit.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Excellent looking P-40, Tony.  I really like the colo(u)rs.  Maybe I missed it, but what did you use?

It's a very appealing aircraft.  Nice work.

Thanks heaps CMK.

The colors used are Tamiya acrylic XF-58 Olive Green over XF-53 Neutral Grey. The wash is just a mix of Lamp Black and Burnt Umber oil paint, thinned with Humbrol enamel thiner and a drop of dishwashing detergent.

Cheers
