                        here's my progress so far on the Hobby Craft (trumpeter) kit. suggestions are always welcome (that is the point of a group build anyway, right?)









                        The kit is pretty straight forward. I keep looking ahead to the part where I am supposed to build the mine plow. The kit comes with chain, tubing, wire, mesh, and I hope it comes out good because it the contents look promising Smile [:)]

                        the tracks had major problems the drive wheel did not line up with the road wheels, and it was a big pain.

                        Hey that looks really good!!!! It is hard to see the indy links in the pic but it appears straight. Was there a problem with them or did they just take too long to assemble? I have adjusted to indy links with the last few models that I have built... so my M1 seems odd to me with the rubber bandy thingies... Whistling [:-^]

                        I did not know that you could paint pepto? Was it sprayed or brushed? Clown [:o)]
                        Looks awesome, and 1/72 would make a great keychain Evil [}:)] or car dashboard item !!

                        I'm going to find a way to tighten my rubber bands. I may have to dremel slice a wheel off and slide it back to create more tension, but I have another idea to test first ......

                        I'll try to put some pics up. So far I am happy with the Hobby Craft kit. Its the trumpeter kit reboxed :P

                        okay, where can I get an AM set of rubber-band tracks for the m1??? (if they exist Big Smile [:D]) I spent over an hour working on the tracks for the 1/72 revell I just finished last night, and I hated it!!!!! those semi-indys are a pain!!!!

                        As far as colour goes, I'd very heartily reccomend Model Master, as they have both Acryl and Enamel. THeir Gulf War sand is an exact colour match for the US armour. Some people say it doesn't look quite right, but I however found it to be perfect.

                        I'm going to try again. LOL I have now Tamiya's older M1A1 and I will be doing it in Desert Sand. Since I've been away awhile on this thread, what are the favorite paints? I like either Model Master or Tamiya acrylics.

                        m1 project had a bit of a set-back over the weekend:
                        the driver's hatch has joined the tow shackle in having gone missing
                        in the "Bermuda Rectangle" (a/k/a my room)...
                        after i spent a session cutting & fitting the periscope vision blox !
                        i've done a thorough search of the area (twice).
                        it seems 2 have vanished w/o a trace...Alien [alien]Alien [alien]Alien [alien]

                        started scratchbuilding a replacement, but i'm thinking i mite just
                        take the easy way out & swipe the hatch from another kit
                        & save the scratchbuilt 1 4 another project.

                        Cool [8D]i just build a Tamiya M1A2 and the end result is cool model and i would like to know how to go about doing the hook near the front fender and what size is the rod suppose to be????? because after buliding the 1st one i went to buy another M1A2 and this i want to made it more real!!!!
