Good job on the badge, and thanks for getting that together for us!

I'll be adding it with the updates tomorrow, after the current craziness is over.  Something fun to help decompress.

Also, still trying to decide on something for the GB.  Originally, I was thinking of doing a few of the small Star Blazers kits, making up for small kit size with numbers.  After seeing some of what you guys are committing to, though, I'd hate to be seen as starting this thing and wimping out or something.

Maybe that F-117 that's been sitting in the stash?  Trying to remember if I cut any parts from the sprue...

Ninetails, I LOVE the GB badge!!!

Thanks Stikpusher, I was a bit concerned since I made it in such quite short time span and all,
I'm very glad that you like it!

OK, here is my entry. It's a crossover that I need to get done by year's end anyway. It's the 1/72 Tamiya Kawanishi Shiden.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Hope you like it!

I'm still gonna look for a date to make my entry and what will enter, but I think it will be the 1/48 V2 by Pegasus, but this can still change.
I can't see until the start of my weekends if I'm going to have a 'free' weekend.
If you want, I can make a badge for you but you'll have to wait till this weekend or so before I can start on it, I really have a lot to do (design) this week, maybe I'll find a little spot to design a little thing!

With regards, Ninetalis.

Hmmmm...sounds like fun.  I'm good for just about any weekend , although my weekends are Fri/Sat.

Put me down for Tamiya's M151A2

Hi Kugai,

Thanks for hosting this, I'm very happy to support your continuing this GB.

I'm in, I think that weekend is OK for me.

I'll have a little bit of a think before I declare my entry.

Cheers

Tony

Yeah!  Count me in Kugai and thanks for getting the GB going!  I just looked in the stash and picked out a kit that I think I can get done in 48 hrs....Tamiya's 1/35 M5A1 U.S. Light Tank.  Last year I tried a Monogram 1/35 M48 Patton and it took almost twice the allotted time....so something smaller, with fewer parts might work...Hmm

Here you go:

I'm good to go for the weekend of the 17th/18th, but will check in often to see if anything has changed!

Old Ordie made it up for me somehow. I sent him a link to my Photobucket Album that had all my GB badges and he came up with that and sent it to me. I had stopped using my GB badges because I could only get  a couple to show...

Oh and I have a Hobbycraft 1/48 Hurricane Mk.IIC picked out. It will be in a "Blitz" era anti night raider overall black scheme. I have done 1/48 jet, a 1/35 tank, and a 1/35 gun jeep here for the past Weekend Madness's so I wanted to try my hand at a 1/48 prop job and this one fit the requirements. Easy interior, mono-color main paint scheme, no engine to paint and detail, and fairly simple straightforward construction.

No problem on the waiting until December, corvettemike.  Given the circumstances you mentioned, I definitely understand.

Welcome aboard, stikpusher.  Looking forward to what you'll be doing.  By the way, I've been meaning to ask you how you got so many badges to show in 1 frame.  I can't get more than the 2 to show up.

Oh I definitely want to partake! I have already selected a kit based off of past experience in this madness! Seeing how my days off are rotating to Thursday/Friday/Saturdays off my 48 hours will be in those time periods. But that weekend and Thanksgiving weekend are not good for me... well Thanksgiving weekend maybe, but the 16th/17th/18th wont work.

I'm interested but as I stated in the other thread I am moving between now and the end of the month so I'll have to see how things go when we get to the new place. I'll look for a subject but I'd prolly get started like the last weekend of the year.

Weekend Madness 2012
Posted by Kugai on Monday, November 5, 2012 1:01 PM

First draft to get things started.  Details on dates etc. subject to slight change.

The rules are simple.

1) 48 hours from start to finish is the goal.  Opening the kit to strategize and check for colors needed, etc. before your build starts is okay, but if you cut that first part off at 6pm Friday, it's supposed to be done by 6pm Sunday.

2) It doesn't have to be a Friday-through-Sunday weekend.  Some of us have different schedules, so whatever 48 hours fits your "weekend" is okay.

3) Any subject ( within FSM's family-friendly guidelines ) in any scale you dare attempt for the time limit.

4) Post WIP pics while building as possible.  I know the time limit can make this a little tricky.  I tend to take care of this when I get to a point that I'm waiting for something to dry or just before getting a nap in.

5) As always, have fun!

In previous WMGBs, there was some flexibility on particular weekends because of Thanksgiving and so on.  Given the late start, I figure it's a good idea to do so again.  For now, how about we call the range as a weekend from 11/17 through the end of the year?  If we have enough people with a particular weekend free, I may end up editing this and declaring a "main" weekend, but anything within the range will meet the terms.  If there's a particular weekend or list of weekends good for you, please include them when "signing up" so we can add a main weekend if possible based on when we have the most people available.

The issue of the badge:  I'm not computer-literate enough to get one set up one right away, so if anyone who signs up can help get one together before I can get some assistance in the RW, I'd definitely appreciate the help.  The main thing that I'd say would be a must is a "Calvin" theme, since that has been the standard so far.

Finally, in case razordws comes back, I just want to say that I'm not trying to hijack his idea or anything like that.  I've enjoyed the Weekend Madness over the past couple of years, as has my son and apparently some other folks here.  All credit for starting this thing originally goes to him, and I'm just trying to keep the fun going until he comes back.

And here is this years badge ( thanks to Ninetails ) in tow convenient sizes...
