Beautiful work there Paul on the Big Yamato, that crane is crazy complicated, I don't see how you ship modelers build PE like that, I'd have made a huge mess out of it, after losing half the parts. 

I really like the idea of showing her 'in action' as it were. I've seen clips from that film, I assume you have it? I've thought about looking around for a sub-titled copy.

The next one is the citadel. I have yet to make the guns, I'll start tonight with that. Before I can place them, the wooden deck must be placed first.

The pagoda, funnel, antenna and rear bridge are ready to be painted.

In contrary to Surfsup, I'm making the model as in use. So the big 18" guns are not equal, a bit damaged and a crew. Also some things you can see on pictures of the real ship or scenes form the movie Otoko-tachi no Yamato (Yamato, Pacific battleship www.imdb.com/.../tt0451845)

The PE parts on that turret look amazing! Must of taken quite a while to put down, I never could get a hang of that stuff myself

Thank you for the comments Gents. With the Railings on the Turrets, I superglue them partway from the rear of the Turret. Because of the Ridges on the Turret, I glue the rest down at the angle needed after the rest of the Glue has dryed. I had the same problem the first time I built her......Cheers Mark

I just scored a Ki51 on evil bay its a Nichimo kit in 1/48 so as soon as it gets here I'll be jumping in!

Looks great! My big mamma is getting further also, I'll place some new pics soon.

The only thing, I'm constantly fighting with the railing. I glue them with secondglue, and thay simply jump off the turret or whatever. I needed to buy new tool railings, because the old ones damage or dissapear. Any tips for me?

All and all it was a fun ship to build. All fits very well, and when you do noit use the decals, you get a really nice fun model! Only for those who are not too serious!!!

Yeah a stapler works great too, hide it or put some mud on the tracks over it. I think the sewing thread is easier to hide but stapling works great too.

For the tracks, can you use a stapler? Works fine for me, and the part what is stapled you can place behaind a plate of the tank. If there is any, off course...

WT: If you should mess up the tracks I replaced the treads off one of my Type 97 kits with link tracks, you can have the old rubber band ones if you want 'em.

The Fine Molds kit has 'rubber band' tracks. But the pins don't go the whole way through, so I suspect you must glue them, but I'm not sure what kind of glue to use.

Does anyone here read Japanese???

As Cliff says don't think is out of "glue only the marked part" , if you really need a can show the post to some japanese friend i have :)

base coat is done. will probably camo GRIZZLEY 6x6 on sunday before trying the dark green on this. nothing attached as yet.

Good looking Chi-Ha there. The brown does look a little dark but does depend on how you're going to weather her. Nice work on the camo pattern!

My Chi-Ha is coming along pretty well.

Construction was pretty straight forward. The kit is well engineered  and has good fit. The sprue gates seem a little big which makes cleaning the tiny parts a bit difficult.

I've got the camo down. The brown might be a bit too dark and had some trouble with the dark color 'running' so had to touch that up a bit. Here's what it looks like now....

Again nice work Bsyamato- I love those tiny little rudder pedals! Your eyesight is so much better than mine to build stuff that small!
