Its pretty much the same here as well, been hot and muggy for a few days now. Though it can't be as bad as you guys. I did some painting a few days ago and it came out fine. So I won't be complain.

Poor guys.  It's about 72 where Stik and I live. 

But I know how it is.  Where I lived a year ago this time was normally around or over 100 and humid.  Two air conditioners on full blast made absolutely no difference.

We had 102 at 5 PM today. It was very humid as well. To make things even worse, we are living in a very old house and are not allowed to install an air conditioner... 102 is considered extremely hot in Austria BTW...

mid 90s in denver with afternoon rains. burn areas get creamed when it rains hard. i prime in the garage which is a tad warm but the bunker is cool enough for acrylic airbrushing. if you start early you can do a 3 color camo in a day. ground level study has a desk fan st the computers and a ceiling fan over my model table and cross ventilation. i tend to handle the heat better than my frau.

good. let me know what to watch out for. i made bumpers out of fake flower stems for an LCM years ago. can probably do a better job now.

Not really complaining about the weather. Just we've been having sorta dry springs and summers for years and then it rained every day for a month this year. Just an odd change of pace.

Waynec, I researched the rope docking bumpers and actually tried with some rigging line I have but in the end I just couldn't get it right and painted the ones provided. Everything else is all right, nice enjoyable kit. I have no idea where the PE is, I think it will add a couple nice touches, but the kit has some nicely detailed parts too.

I just came across some Authentic Decals sheet 72-46 of Ju-88Ds.  There is one listed as being in Nantes France in 1944  Ju-88D-2 (4T+GH) Westa 51.  Does this make any sense and what would they have been doing in and around the invasion if anybody knows.

Wekusta 51 was a recon unit, one of a number tasked with weather recon. I believe W 51 was tasked with missions off the coast of Ireland.

It was just as important for the Germans to know the weather conditions along the coats as it was for the Allies. This would help give the Germans an idea of when the Allies might attack.

Wayne: FYI - there is a company called THACHWEAVE (http://thachweave.tripod.com/products.htm) that sells the woven bumpers for most types of landing craft, including LWS, DUKW, GPA, etc. They also have cargo nets.

Really nice work, Ken! May I ask you how you get those wings on the Jug to fit so nice? I had a lot of problems with mine... (which is strange, because some dryfitting on my Raorback reveals that they fit way better than on the Bubbletop...)

Here you can see where the spars slide into in the wings where the yellow circles are. Sorry the right wing is blocked by the P 38 I was working on tonight. but the right is the same as the left. Sorry the circles are so small; I just changed the circles and put in arrows too. I don't know how old you are, but if you're like me the eyesight is getting worse  with age LOL

And here is the P 38 The Wing Booms were a real bear to get right tonight. especially the left wing

A few people here said the monogram P 38 was a difficult kit. Does this go for all P 38's?

I think every Lightning kit has problems with the wings in certain areas.

I had a lot more problems with the wings: One wing had a noticeable gap at the upper surface and the other one had one at the lower part of the wing/fuselage joint. Most of the wing panels didn't fit as well. I'm building the Tamiya kit as well. I have none of the issues with their Razorback kit though, which uses the same sprues for the wings. Maybe It's just a bad mold... I managed to sort all the problems on the upper surfaces out, but I still need to tackle the ugly spots on the lower surfaces. I'll try to spray some layers of microfiller over the problem-areas to partially fill in those large gaps and make panel lines out of them.

Well, it had to be an hour and a half that I fiddled with the one boom last, I was too busy messing with it to watch the clock LOL But, I have it pretty well. There are a few tiny spots that will need putty, So i'm not messing with it anymore I think the putty will go on tonight. Too bad there not as good as Tamiya's P 47 wings LOL
