Dre, how about the box covered with AM stuff we talked about earlier in this GB?

I think I managed to achieve that:

That engine alone is worth the price of admission, nice haul.   I was at my LHS mere minutes ago looking at the 1/32 HK B-25 and drooling at little..  but I bought paint instead.

I saw that model as well at my LHS... I want one so badly!!!!

But I'll just buy the ex-Accurate Miniatures one (1/48, reboxed by academy) and save up some money for their B-17. I absolutely need that kit when it comes out. The owner f the shop confirmed me that he will order some of them (yikes!). I'll have to buy me 4 AM engines (i hope Quickboost will release them) and a lot of gun barrels for dem .50s though! Maybe saome resin wheels and HGW belts as well...

Just in case anyone was wondering...No, I haven't started this kit. Yep, was in my stash.

I had to get the room ready for building again. I did manage to glue the fuselage halves together though Geeked

Now, I have to go through my acrylics and make sure I have the colors I need!

PS...I can't believe how bad my eyes have gotten. I think I may need some cheater glasses, to do kits now!

Clemens,

If I could I'd like to join in.  I'm thinking something from the 50's, made by Grumman and in Divine Scale (1/72).

1/72 Hasegawa F11F-1 Tiger, VF-21.  May also do the F9F-8 Cougar that's the other half of the combo as well.

Hi Clemens,

I signed up for a 1/72 Buffalo. Could I change it to a 1/72 Eduard F6F-5N please.

Thanks

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Tony: Sure, mate I changed it already for you.

Seems like I'm not alone!

I have a Wildcat, a F3F and soon 2 Hellcats as well on my bench!

All in 1/48th scale.

You are not late at all btw!

I put your birds on the list. Just tell me the manufacturer(s) of your kits...

Thank You!

I am just doing OOB. Although, I am really surprised Tamiya didn't include at least "seat belts molded in"

A word of caution, if you are planning on including the drop tanks, the wing mounts are very fragile. One came off the sprue with no problem & sanded. The other, broke in two. Not a major issue, gluing back together now Huh?

Started work on the engine, painted and letting the black wash dry:

Nice work!

You are making progress much faster than me and the only aditions to my Wildcat are a new Engine (simply repaces the kit parts), the missing Seatbelts (some really fiddly stuff from HGW) and some masks from Eduard to make painting easier.

I have a tipp for you as well, Eric!

Paint the underside of the cokpit floor and the inside of the fuselage near the small windows green. You can see the inside through the clear parts.

Comon' I want to see the fiddly stuff!!  Sleep

By the way, what Eduard masks are you using?Just for the canopy?

I'm using Parafilm to mask.

I will post one more

....then continue working on that MPC Tie Fighter kit. That thing is horrible, flash and fit wise!

looking good, Eric! I just glued the pit between the fuselage halves, so there should be an update of my kitten as well untill this weekend.

If you want to see the fiddly stuff, you have to wait till then. I can tell you one thing though: The belts consist of the actual fabric (textured foil) and the buckles are tiny PE-parts. You put those belts together like the real ones, just much smaller.

Cheers, Clemens

Good looking Hellcats.   I've gotten a little painting done in the nose gear well and assembled all the ordnance over the weekend.

Here's an example of those HGW belts. I'm warning you though, they are really fiddly in 1/48th scale!

Does all of HGW's belts come pre-painted? I have Dragon's 1/48 FW 190 A-8 and like to get belts and maybe a seat for it.

The "fabric" parts are all pre-painted. There is no need for paint on the PE as well, so yes, everything prepainted. And they have some pre-cut belts as well.

Airbrushed the primer & pre-shaded this morning. Looks like storms here in Ohio so, I got it done early.

I also finished assembling the landing gear and drop tanks, last night. Those will get a primer shot next.
