Another update,coming down the homestretch.Just need some more weathering and detail painting.

Hey Mike, generally you're right there but in the last few months of the war the Germans brought back the grey paint in some cases, I've heard different explanations from running out of stocks of mustard yellow to the grey provided better camo since most of the fighting was in the burned out rubble of German cities.

Panzer grey was phased out about two years before the Jagdtiger came along -- it would be factory applied dark yellow as the base.

I've not forgotten this build, my Jagdpanther is in the lineup waiting for its shot at completion!

Looks good Wayne, love the last photo that shows how big the darn thing was even in 1/72nd.

I'm no German expert but weren't pretty much if not all of these painted just plain German grey?

i'm back after a couple of work things. JAGDTIGER is ready for priming. given it is 1F at 3 in the afternoon that may not get done for a few days. this seems to be a late model with zimmerit and no tow cables, AA MG, whole bunch of spare parts. haven't decided on a a paint scheme but leaning toward white and panzer yellow winter.

Looks pretty darn good Cody, love to see her from some more angles when you get a chance.

Wow Guys its been a while since I have looked at this thread.  There is some incredible work going on here!!!!  

My Hetzer is now living at my local Hobby Store.  Plus my photos for this thread from PB are all gone for some reason.   I think I made a mistake and probably rearranged them and broke the link.  Here is the finished one.  

Tojo, that camo is looking very good! Some lovely mesh skirts you got there as well!

I haven't abandoned my Hetzer but I screwed up the interior paint job big time and had to strip all the paint off again and I didn't have the time and nerves to try again so far...

Bish, superb work! The weathering is an artform as much as the building, and you've done it real justice. This is one grubby, hard-used beast! I've never yet had the guts to weather heavily!

I just did a bit of digging and it seems they are from the same unit. So the insignia must have been a unit thing, maybe each shape indicated a certain company. Yours doesn't have a tactical number so its hard to tell, but the number on mine, 301, could indicate a Company HQ vehicle.

Mine from the 561st tank Destroyer battalion, I am not sure about yours. I don't know what those markings are for, I have not come across them in any of my references.

I think so too.  Are our Marders from the same unit?  I noticed the "1A" unit marking on yours.  Mine has the same marking, but it is in a red triangle on mine.  Do you know what the unit is?

Thanks a lot guys. Its a little heavier than I had planned, but I like it and it works well with the inside. Those AK products are really nice and combined with the pigments its pretty easy to get the dusty look.

Darn, I saw your Marder last night on my cell phone Bish and was going to post but forgot.

Beautiful job there, I love the dusty weathering! I think I already complemented you on the interior of the fighting compartment but again let me say fantastic work there!
