Hmmm yeah an oxygen bottle does make a lot of sense.  

Scratch building some of the finer details on the Ki-9 Spruce

Navigation lights on the top wing were carved out, followed with a strip of plastic sheet glued to close it up, and sanded flush to the wing shape.  Once the aircraft is painted, the hollowed out areas will be filled in with special clear liquid.

The control arms that were added are just hollow brass .3mm size.

Handholds on the wingtop were added, created same way as the lights.

Remaining handholds and foothold were made from the wire of a twist tie.  Holes were drilled into the fuselage so the glue had a place to pool, and add some strength - this way the detail isn't just precariously sitting on the surface.

added details on the cockpit, in some case removed original pieces

with the scratched pilot seat

and the correct central flap

the rear operator seat and pilot seat glued

more details added, the rear IP will be scratched , so i closed the original pins, also added levers, oxygen cans etc

the flap after a sanding cure

added walls structures , instruments not yet added

urgent matters have required my attention but i am back and the world just got a little more complicated. (paraphrased)

stalled on TYPE 87 (indy track) but got pe for TYPE 82 CinC 6x6 ( i have 2 plus NBC) and TYPE 87 RCN 6x6 (same chassis) and a 2d set of JGSDF figures plus 2 sets of tamiya JGSDF paints. time to get back to my warwheel roots

Finished to put things on the cockpit walls, not all the real pieces but i wish to close this plane :)

floor and seat ready for paint

the colors used for the mixed interior green

scratchin the used ammo pockets with aluminium foil

correct and scratchin some piece for the rear gun, used scrap plastic, stretched sprues and masking tape and copper wire

glued with CA glue the belt to the gun group and ready for paint session

ready to fly :)

Bsyamato - more great scratch building you have presented here.  Really like the modifications to the rear gun, and that instrument panel - I can't tell if it is a decal or did you hand paint it, really nice!

Here's where I'm at with the Spruce trainer.   Base colour is now done, using orange yellow to start.  I found it was a bit strong, so applied another coat mixed approximately 50/50 with golden yellow.

Up next is some final details and painting on the exterior, wing struts and wheels.  Then I can start the rigging wires.

I'm finding this resin kit is difficult to predict when it will be completed, keep finding things that are either wrong, or simply missing.  I was just adding the exhausts this afternoon, when I realized they are both molded from one design and only fit the port side.  So had to cut the other one up, and turn the exhaust opening 180 degrees.  Also found online Nachimo's instruction sheet, and see there is an additional pair of pipes at the very bottom end.  I think I've some vinyl tubing to scratch build those in place.

Anyhow, here's where it's at.  I used three sizes of rigging line.  There is a double wire that is really flat, and EZ line .006 came handy here since it is not round at all in profile.  The other wires are .003, while those by the center wing are from Uschi at 0.02mm.

Finally getting started on my Ka MI and about an hours work. I think this will be a very nice kit by Dragon and I'm still undecided on color and designators but I'm leaning towards the battle on Leyte, maybe a dio of a beach landing?

Hello all! I would like to join in with a 1/72 JASDF F-104 Starfighter, not sure yet which markings. Been a long while since I did a GB, even longer since I done any these forums! Great builds all, BTW!! ;-)

Jack: I know what you mean about resin kits. What you've got so far looks amazing though- the rigging is fantastic!

I finished the bogie/wheels assemblies along with a few other smaller parts. Whats a little different on this kit are the thin PE washers on both sides of the wheels which should paint up nicely. It's probably a bad close up, but the provided prop blades are a little thick. I'll have to sand them down a bit but that'll make them a lot more realistic. I'm also planning on building with the pontoons on, I think thats what makes this Ka Mi tank so different. 

Very neat tank, Terry! Gamera - I wasn't sure which one I was going to do, that's all! I have at least a few 1/72 Starfighters by all the major manufacturers! LOL

I decided I will do the Hasegawa F-104J Starfighter "J.A.S.D.F." kit no.01001, which was the first of the really nice second-generation F-104 kits that Hasegawa came out with. I have the most Hasegawa Starfighters so I should start making a dent in the stash! I have pics but Photobucket is down right now. :-/

Finally! The parts are in a tub getting a bath now!

Such a classic, that'll be a beautiful bird.

Some subassemblies and interior work. Theres little if any interior provided and almost none will be visible when completed. I had a minor fit issue on one of the corners when attaching the front plate, so a couple passes with Mr Surfacer 500 will close that up. 

Terry: Looks very good! I was a little puzzled by the partial interior they provide mostly as you said parts that won't be visible once closed up.
