Managed to button up the fuselage. Rather different on this Eduard kit is the absence of locator pins on the fuselage. Once installed, the cockpit tub, oil cooler vent and tail wheel assembly fill this function. Unfortunately, after careful test fitting and gluing, the fuselage halves had slipped just a titch. This created a small ridge that I have to putty and sand.. I'm making good progress there. Here's a pic of where I'm at so far.

Looks like excellent work everybody!
May I sign up with this: FW190 1/72 By Revell Germany? I was going to try to squeeze it in as a 2nd entry to the Butcher Bird GB but got busy and ran out of time. Thank you.

Hey There Cody, Glad to see you join us here. Very cool to see you bring your FW 190 over. Unfortunate that you were unable to complete it for the Butcher Bird GB. Looking forward to your progress.
Looking nice there JOE.
Cody, welcome aboard, as I think I said before, look forward to seeing this one, been considering getting this kit for a few years.
I have just added and temporary roster and completed builds to my opening post in the absence of SS. If anyone is missing, or if there are any completed builds not on the front page, please let me know and I will add them.
Thanks all.

Hi Everyone,
I just got the B-24 for my 1944 GB. I was looking things over and noticed that the kit is "D" model and according to "fubar.com/.../photo-2499659-0-3969883235", Jimmy Stewarts plane was an "H" So, How much differance was/is there between to two?
A.K.A. Ken Making Modeling Great Again
Ken, quite a lot. The H has the powered front turret. But pics explain it best.
D
H
I don't know if there are any H's in 48th. There ain't in 72nd, I have converted a J to an H, that's a pretty easy job, and I have 2 more J's to backdate, including Stewarts Male Call.
Thanks Bish, I see the difference. It figures, I got a b 17 too new (a G ) and a b 24 too old ( a D ).
okay, on to plan B. 1st - research more on each version as to what I want to build.
I don't care for the decals included with the 24, hmmm If my memory serves me correct, (oh yea right) (said with very heavy sarcasm LOL) I was told another uncle flew in a 24.
He got tagged with the nickname "Tabby because he died once as a kid and was brought back to life. Then died in his B-24 and was brought back to life.
How do you mean the 17G is to new, that should work for 44. There were 24D's around in 44 as well, mainly lead ships, but that just depends on getting the right markings.
In 1/72, Academy and/or Minicraft did release a B-24H; it's what I'm still working on for the "Longest Day" group build. It was originally released as a NMF plane,
then re-released four more times, with four of the "Zodiac" squadron markings. The "Zodiac" boxings each included an art print of the box-cover painting.
I don't know how easy it would be to come by these days. Mine are at least fifteen years old--which is probably why the decals went bad.
Academy also released the B-24 over the years in -D,
J,
L
and M versions,
They included specific parts for each version in the appropriate box. Last time I looked, Eduard seemed to have acquired at least some of the molds. Again, these were all 1/72 not 1/48.
Now, I really should get back to "Aries," so I can move on to USS North Carolina.
Unfortunately, hasegawa have not carried on their line of B-24's. They have the same separate nose section which should allow different versions, but have only done D's and J's. fortunately, I found it pretty easy to back date a J to an H.
Ken is working in 48th, not sure how he might feel about coming down to the true scale
Eventually, everyone must come to the True Scale. It is known.
Indeed, its just a matter of time.
Okay, here's a Big DUHHHH on my part.
What I meant was the B-17 G is too new to do the plane my Uncle was in when they were shot down in 1942 just 2 or 3 miles north of New Guinea. It was a B17E .
And the B 24 is too old to do Jimmy Stewarts Male Call
Sorry for the misunderstanding
Uhhhh what is "True Scale"?
Thanks
Got you now Ken.
And the True Scale is the one laid down in the missing commandments.
'And the Lord said there shall be no other aircraft scale than the one that is righteous and true, and that scale is 1/72nd'
Amen Brother Bish!!
Indeed Ken, resistance is futile. You will succumb to the power of 1/72:
Hey. I might be able to get in on this one. I have a Tasca Luchs I might enter. If not I always have an Italeri Kangaroo or an Alan 15 cm sIG 33.
In progress:
CAD:
1/35 SINCGARS ICOM/ASIP; 1/35 Flat screen TVs; 1/35 tactical light that I shall reveal later
Models:
1/35 DML M4A1 DV; AFV Club M18 Hellcat; DML StuG IV; DML Armored Jeep w/ .50 cal; Panda Cougar 4x4 MRAP; Academy M3A1 Stuart; 1/700 Midship Models USS Miami; 1/700 Skywave Rudderow Destroyer Escort
No worries Mikey, just let me know once you decide what you want to build and I can add you to the list. Welcome aboard.
Bish Got you now Ken. And the True Scale is the one laid down in the missing commandments. 'And the Lord said there shall be no other aircraft scale than the one that is righteous and true, and that scale is 1/72nd'
OhhhKay!!!
i admit, I'm not well versed in the Bible, But what book of the Bible is this in? LOL Or is this missing from the good book? LOL
Ok, My next build is going to be the B52. Is that true scale enough?
Ken, I believe it was removed by heathens trying to impose a false scale
Is that in the 52 GB. I will look forward to that, hopefully I can do mine next year. Do you want me to remove the B-24 from the roster.
No! Keep the B24. I'm doing it for this GB I don't have the B 52 yet. I am signed up for the BUFF B-52 GB. It will be there when I get the kit. I am getting it from a local model club member. He had car trouble so he wasn't able to make the meeting Saturday, So I went ahead and got the B-24.
Very nice Ken. I'm anticipating a rather excellent build up of the B-24 from you.
JOE RIX Very nice Ken. I'm anticipating a rather excellent build up of the B-24 from you.
Thanks Joe
I'm glad I have 6 months to do it in. I'm also doing a B-17 now too
Loking forward to the 24 ken. So what markings are you giving this one.
Alright Ken! Love the B-24! Cant wait to see trhis one...

It finally arrived (or, I finally paid for it, and had it shipped)
This will mark many firsts for me:
I'm looking forward to getting started. I'm researching the subject, and figuring out paints.
This will be geared towards Operation Jericho.
On the bench: Tamyia Mosquito Mk. VI for the '44 group build. Yes, still.
On deck:
Hey There G-J! It is awesome to see you jumping in here with the Tamiya Mossie. You are going to LOVE building a Tamiya kit. I have to say the majority of my stash is Tamiya. I too have that kit in my stash and from what i have researched it is a gem of a kit. Also nice to see you stepping out to try something a little different. I am looking forward to your progress and pics.
Making some progress on the T-34's upper hull. Uninterrupted bench time plus the World Cup on TV is bliss. The wheels are partway done, I just didn't bother to put them in the pic.

Nice start Raven.
I am not much of a football fan but I do watch the world cup. Been interesting so far.
Bish Loking forward to the 24 ken. So what markings are you giving this one.
I haven't decided on the markings yet.I been looking I'd rather not do one that most people do, ie Hun Hunter in the P 47 group. I like to be different LOL.
Hi everyone
I am finally done with my latest project and had enough time to start with my Fw-190.
I have been working on the cockpit for the last week, painted and did some chipping, working on the pedals and some other parts right now.
Next I am going to glue the small parts, a brown wash and some dry brushing.
Comments and suggestions always welcome.
