Bish - I have decided what I want to do with the B 24. It will be "The Strawberry ***"

Hmmm will this web site allow the B word?

Well here goes. No it won't.

If you don't know what I mean, Let me know and I'll figure out another way to tell you

Here is the latest pic of the B-24 I know there are too many props here, But I'm also doing a B 17

Don't tell anyone, I used the same pic in the unofficial B-17 GB too.

Doug

I'm glad to hear that Conner is doing better!!! Keep us posted on how he's doing. The Tiger is coming out great.

Eagle

That paint scheme is very neat. Well done.

Greentracker

Thank you for the input. I think next time it will be easier to paint the seam after it is put together. I put on a second coat today and it darkened it up a bit more to my liking.

Here's an update. I masked what windows I could today. I had a couple in the front that started to push in so I decided not to mask them. Next time I will paint the fuselage before I put the windows in then touch up after assembly. Oh well lesson learned. I put the the primer coats on and did a quick test fit with the wings on. Wow is this a big bird. The hobby mat it is sitting on is 18" wide just for reference.

b een a little while s9ince I've been on this GB,

Nomad - glad to hear the little one is doing better.

Jsmith - your b 17 looks great. I'm doing the same kit, is yours the revell mono 1/48 kit

I have both a 17 and a 24 on the bench right now. I've been very hesitant abount putting the fuesalages together. When i did the PBY Catalina, I had to go back at the end and spray the seams. I masked all the windows individually, the window frames were unmasked. All in allI think it turned out pretty good

That's good news Doug, give the family our best and tell them our best wishes are with you all.

And don't worry, there's plenty of time for the Tiger.

Hey all,

There are some great looking builds going on. Awesome job all. Update on the grandbaby, We get to go home this morning. There are still some tests out and he will have to come back in about three months for another MRI of his brain to see if the fluid is gone or more or the same.

Other than that he is doing great. He is a happy baby always smiling and laughing. I will get back and see if I can get more done on the Tiger II. Thanks for your prayers and comments for Conner.

Doug

Looks nice Eagle. Splinter camo isn't as easy as it seems is it. You think its all nice straight line, but its not that simple.

Man, there are some great builds here!  Loving this GB!

Well, I spent over 2 hours last night taping this monster!  It seems like the more of this splinter type camo I do, the harder it gets!  Huh?   I think it turned out alright.  Not the best V2 I've seen, but not bad I guess.  I have just a few spots to touch up (overspray!), but other than that, all I have left to paint is the stand.  I'm not sure the dark yellow is the best match yet.  Will do a bit more research on that before I spray it....might be tonight!

Hi Clemens,

Starting a bit late, and it is going to be a quick build.

I am doing the Academy 1/72 F4F-4 Wildcat. Initially it was to be OOB but when I saw how little was in the box, I cannot leave it alone. There will be some crude busying up of the cockpit and engine.

A limited amount of external changes will be done.

The colour scheme will be the white/white/dark gull grey scheme for Atlantic operations, as provided for in the box (but not shown on the box art).

Thanks,

Piers

Good work getting that worn look on the Fortress, Jamie.  Looks like she's made a few trips to visit the Fuehrer.

Eagle: Impressive paint job. That,s an unusual scheme but, I like it!

Jamie: Nice paint job! That looks really good.

Thanks Joe!  I'm trying to get it to look like the German Scheme #4 on this web site.  Site was given to me by Bish.  Thank you mate!

It won't be exact, but I'm hoping to get the jest of it.

I'm having a HARD time getting it taped up!  Seems like the more I do these splinter type camos, the harder they get!

Holy moly, Eagle! That's a lot of progress you made there! Mind showing us some pictures of your entire stash? And there's me thinking my stash is way too big...

Jay: Those Eduard kits really are challenging to put together, but you're doing a really good job at it!

JS: Your B-17 is looking great! Nice work on that undercarriage!

Nomad: Sorry to hear that. Just take your time.

Hey SS, I brought Tim's thread on stash's back to life so I wouldn't hi-jack Bish's thread.  Here it is.
