Ok! Ok, i surrender.   I was in the FSM WWI BG last year and it was great, considering it was my first WWI plane.  I think at this point I'll go with the Eduard Fokker E V.

GMorrison, I didn't even notice the ship badge being pink, till you pointed it out. Steve could you change it by chance?

I picked my first build out today. The 1/72 Airfix Hannover CL.III not a lot of parts to the kit. But painting the lozenge is going to be a pain.

David- I can help look, but there's some good sources for lozenge decals on line. There's no way I could paint those in 1/72. I used the ones that came with my 1/72 Hansa Brandenburg W29. They were slightly the wrong color but an over spray of thinned down light grey really helped. I also have a great source for guns, I'll post Ivan's contact.

Well it's really Fuchsia and was picked to be visible from the background.  But I take your point, Castles of Steel and Fuchsia don't seem to "play well" together.

So have a compromise for you:  To maintain readability and avoid causing old salts  to cringe,

how about   ?  

Now ,if you can convince  Dave to change/add to the accepted badges you're in... I'm sooo busy paintin' my model                   

GMorrison, First off thanks for the offer on helping with the lozenge. I've found a pretty good decal sheet on ebay that should work for my kit. If you have a source for guns that would really help. The Airfix kit' is really basic and its going to take a lot of work.

Don't put it down yet David. I am going to order it with my next order to Hannants in a couple of weeks, so these still time to change my mind. But I do rather like the scheme on this.

    This is too funny,   I had the same kit in my hands Tuesday night at my LHS,  I was standing there trying to decide if I want to torture  myself with 1/72 scale rigging.  I built the 1/48 albatros DIII for the WWI GB last year,  and that was my very first time rigging.   Now I'll probably have to pick this one up next week when I work at my LHS. I too was attracted by the scheme.   I have been trying to get those decals in 1/48,  and at the moment i can't remember if i found them or not.

I had missed that, but then I hardly ever go to the front page, just straight to the forum. Its good they were able to get the others builds on there. You probably get more coverage than the one sin the mag.

That D.III is a great build, I can't wait to see what you do for this one. If we both end up doing the Eduard kit, we can compare notes and go blind together.

  Ya I really liked that kit,  it made me go by about 4 other Eduard WWI kits for the stash.  I'm going to have to stack 2 10x hood magnifiers together for the 1/72 scale.  I will for sure be using the third hand alligator clip stand when I rig it.

And hopefully it won't want to go flying out of my hands like the D III did when I was trying to attach the top wing.

O, its not that bad, honestly. Rigging that 0/400 was a breeze. lining the wings up, now thats another matter. That's where being an octopus would help.

So I was buying some resin stuff for another GB and I noticed that Freight Dog sells lozenge decals.

I survived the 1/72 Fokker Eiv (which is on the front page) and have lots of other I need to do while I can still sorta see.  My two words of advice---BUILD IT!!!!!
