Good question Clemen's, I have only just noticed Hannants don't have them. I found a couple on E-bay but none in Europe.

This one in Japan, actually even with postage its not that bad a price.

Hasegawa 1/32nd Ju 87G-2

And this in Canada, but its not a buy now.

Hi Bish,

I'll do a Fujimi 1/72 D-5. At the moment I'm thinking about Hunfarian markings, but time will tell.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Í think I could live with the wrongly shaped nose, but the B-version is more of a back-up plan anyway. I really hope I can get the G-2. Do you know any place I can get that particular kit?

Apparently its to small and slightly out of shape. Check these out, they can give you more info.

www.hyperscale.com/.../trumpeter03214reviewbf_1.htm

modelingmadness.com/.../tmc87b.htm

There is also a question about the wheel spats.

There is a correction set for the nose, but it misses all the detail so it stands out from the rest of the kit.

But apart from that, its a great kit if your not to worried about the shape. But it has put me off a bit.

Bish: I was actually talking about the same Trumpy kit. What exactly is wrong with the nose?

Oh man, if I wasn't already neck deep enough group builds!  This gives me an excuse to order a cannon armed Stuka. Put me down for a 1/48 Hasegawa JU-87G-2.

That's ok SS, I will let you off lol. Ye, I have seen pics of that top one with the yellow stripe as well. According to one of my Osprey books, the yellow nose band was worn by aircraft in Hungary.

Clemen's, which B-2 will you get. I really want one in 32nd, but the issues with the nose on the Trump kit have put me off and theres no decent replacement.

Nice schemes there clemens. Is the top one the G-2 that was flown in and surrendered at the end of the war? Furth maybe? If so, it was color photographed and color filmed.

No, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm not going to build Rudel's arcraft. I don't have the kit yet, but I'm working on getting one, so if I find said kit it'll be the first one on this decal sheet:

If i have no luck, I'll just build the 2nd one on this sheet (it's a B version and my LHS happens to have one of those in stock:

I'll take it as it comes Clemens, and I have that kit in the stash, so this will be a god chance to get a clse up look. I take it your doing Rudels bird.

I think I might change it to the Bomber clasp. Its more linked to the Stuka itself and Rudel is a bit of a controversial figure, and don't want to ruffle any feathers.

Glad to see you Nathan, I am sure we will see a few more familiar names signing up (just guessing).

We have our first complete Kette

That "Kette" idea sounds interesting. You might not want to be in one with me if you want to get your oak leaves (or "Eichenlaub" if ya want it to fit the nation the plane was used by) in the near future. I'm a slow builder Wink

Heya, Bish! Let me be the first to sign up here!

Bish
It can be any scale, yes, even none 1/72nd.

Who are you and what did you do to the real Bish!!!

Well in that case, my model of choice is Hasegawa's Ju 87 G-2 "Kanonenvogel" (1/32). I'm not too sure if I'm going to add a lot of AM goodies except some masks and brass barrels for the cannons...

I think it's a great idea to include some info in the Stuka in the first post. Nicely done! That siren sure sounds scary BTW.... Indifferent

Cheers, Clemens

Build roster.

I am going to do something a little different with the roster, which will hopefully be a little bit of fun and team spirit. The Ju 87 operated in flights of 3 aircraft, known as Kette. So builders will be grouped into Kette's filling spaces as you join. Each Kette will have its own Ju 87 related insignia which you can add to your GB badge once you have completed your build. Once all 3 of your Kette complete your build, you can add the Bomber Clasp in Gold to your badge.

Ju 87 Stuka GB
Posted by Bish on Sunday, January 12, 2014 11:41 AM

Stuka = Sturzkampfflugzeug

Finally, we have a GB dedicated to one of the most recognisable aircraft of WW2.

The Ju 87 was designed by Hermann Pohlmann. Entering service in 1936, it fist saw action in the Spanish civil war, were the German's put into practice their ideas of modern warfare in which the Stuka played a vital role.

Even though the Ju 87 proved vulnerable to enemy fighters during the Battle of Britain, its continued to play a vital role in the battle to come and despite being outdated and many ground attack units switching to Fw 190's, the Ju 87 struggled on until the very last days of the war, and it continued to be the mount of the highest decorated German of WW2, Oberst Hans-Ulrich Rudel.

Easily identified by its crooked wing and fixed undercarriage, one of the most well known feature's of the aircraft was its sound. With a propeller driven siren at the top of each wheel spat, known as the Jericho Trumpet, these would scream as the aircraft dived towards its target and could strike fear into the enemy troops below.

So, this is the official build thread for the Ju 87 GB. A number of people have shown an interest in this. The build will begin on April 1st (no, its not a joke) and run until March 31st 2015.

So what do you need to take part.

Firstly, and most important. You nee a kit of a Ju 87 Stuka. It can be any scale, yes, even none 1/72nd. You can add as many extras as you want or just build it as it comes. Any markings, including captured, and can be an operational version (even one with Skis Whistling) or a proposed one. As long as its a Ju 87.

Second, you need the time to build it amongst all the other great GB's going. Please, no drop out's, Wink

Thirdly, a camera would be really handy, lots of progress pics would be very nice.

Partially started kits are ok, within reason of course. And finally, no cross overs please. The Stuka deserves a place of its own and doesn't share.

This is the badge, take it as soon as you sign up.

And that's it. So sign up any time you like and have some fun.

And to help you along the way, crank the sound up and press play, if your nerves can stand it.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
