Dawn of the Jet Age GB feeler thread.

Well I found it, and on 2nd glance I realized these were F-102s. Which don't fit into the criteria, so would it be a contradiction? Still great piece of art if you ask me.

Ironically, I have taken a little detour and gone on my own with a 1/32 Hasegawa Sabre in the past few days, and I just saw this GB.

I will be done with it before this GB starts. I do have another F-86. A 1/48 Academy kit. So, I'll go with that.

Groovy, then count me in with the F-7 Cutlass for now. I also have an F-86F and F-84G that I may do if I have time.

Yes and yes! I actually have a Trumpeter Seahawk i was considering doing if I get my F-80 finished in good time.

Plasticjunkie: I'm afraid not. The F4D is the FIRST Navy fighter to miss the cut. She wad able to do super sonic in level flight, but if you have anything sub-sonic or trans-sonic from that era or earlier, we would love to see you on here bringing it to life!

Clemens: that would be awesome! I also found an old US poster with jets that makes me think of that "warm and fuzzy" time.between the end of WWII and the cold war heating up. I'll see if i can find it and post it up.

You can definitely count me in! I'll build one of the Hobbyboss Me 262s, buti I'm not sure which one it's going to be.

No worries, just looking at my options. I built the worlds first swing wing aircraft for that GB, so would be nice to do the first jet for this.

Yessir i plan on putting up a seperate build thread, and the He 178 would certainly count. I need to specify in the build thread that being a production aircraft is not a requirment. My mistake.

I won't put my name down just yet, I want to cut down the number I am actually committed to at any one time, so I should be able to put my name down at the start of next year.

Sounds like it will be fun, especially with the later start date.  I've got an F-80 and an F-86 that would fit, and  I've been eyballing Me-262 kits since the last one I built was accidentally destroyed by my wife.

That's a great kit. Seated pilot, full engine, jack stand for the rear fuselage, bombs or napalm war load, choice of tip tanks, gun bay...

I've done the fastpitch thing occasionally and enjoy it, but slowpitch is more prevalent around here. More teams, more players, more competition etc.  Played on 2 teams, plus a tournament, last summer, 70 games in the books. I love it, but it certainly eats into potential bench time.

Much appreciated vance. Now do you coach a fast pitc team, or do you play slow pitch?

Well it olny makes sense that no more than 3 hours after I decide to put the start off until August that the F-80 I ordered shows up in my door. I could alomost hear that little box laughing at me, knowing I had to put him to the side for another 7 months. Mean, spiteful little devil, that box...

Screaminhelo, first, let me say I think its great you are getting your son involved in this at such a young age. That's about the age my I started tinkering with models with my dad myself. Although he did most of the work, I felt like I had done something special when it was finished. Second, its a shame your fleet of Sabres might already be complete by August, (still feel free to show us your completed work if you'd like!!!) but it makes me VERY happy to know that might open up time fore you to do a Sea Vixon!! I think the Sea Vixon is the most beautiful aircraft ever put into service by the Fleet Air Arm, and I would love love love to see her put together in this GB!
