I took a closer look; the lighting itself seems to be producing the shadows and highlights. Pretty natural looking.

Thanks Check! I think I’ll finish him up along with this project.
I did an airbrushing session this afternoon. A base coat of Humbrol 30 Dark Green. I’ll let it dry overnight, then mask off and do the secondary colors tomorrow.
and a couple of close ups to show how the Mr Surfacer casting texture looks under a coat of paint...
Until tomorrow...
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

That came out well, stik. Just the right amount of texture!
Thanks Check. I think the next time that I try this technique I'll give a light sanding to take down those few coarse spots.
Silly Putty masking used here.
Humbrol 29 Dark Earth used over the Dark Green
Based off a WWII era color photo that I found, i went with a light gray turret top, in this case Humbrol 64
Tomorrow I need to do the black borders between the camo colors. I found some Sharpie fine tip oil paint markers to use for that.
This morning I added the black demarcation borders between the camo colors using a Sharpie Ultra Fine Tip paint marker
After lunch I took care of the overspray area, and started some detail item painting...
More photos later...
Very sharp-looking paint scheme, stik. You carried it off very well. Nice job!
Thanks Check! Aren’t those French camo schemes good looking?
Overspray cleaned up... major base colors on...
And with my trusty Tamiya French Infantryman...
I think that I’ll do the gloss coat and decals next...
Hi,
That's looking really good.
Pat
Thank you Pat.
stikpusher Thanks Check! Aren’t those French camo schemes good looking?
Well done on that tank Stik.
Nick.
Thank you Nick. It’s turning out much better than I feared/expected... lol!
Gloss coat of Future airbrushed on yesterday. Decals applied today. I did a bit of variation from the decal instructions adding a third set of tactical numbers to the turret rear and moving one of the ID roundels to the turret top.
And I’ve been working on my infantryman as well.
More to come in a few days...
Oh, yes; that is all coming together so well. The soldier is looking even better than before. Nice touch with the roundel on top of the turret.
Done, Kaysee! Welcome to the GB! Glad you're going to participate. Looking forward to seeing how things go. I haven't heard of that particular kit, but I have a few 1/72 He-111's waiting to go.
Kaysee, I’m looking forward to that big He-111!
I added and cleaned up an oil wash on this over the weekend.
Impressive work, stik! Sharp-looking tank.
Thanks Check! I think that this tank has a certain flair in its’ appearance.
Ok, I’m getting back on this one to get it over the finish line.
Flat coat on. I used Tamiya XF-86 Flat Clear for the first time, thinned with lacquer thinner. I like the results.
Next up dry brushing, then weathering.
This is looking really great, stik. Nice work!
Thanks Check. I’m ready to be done with this one.

s.t.u.a.r.tExcellent looking build Carlos - glad to see it back on the bench!
Well it’s just been sitting there on my bench for weeks mocking me to finish it... in French! This will not do!
I could say i am surprised it hasn't raised a white flag, but that would be cruel.

Just a wee bit....
Dry brushed highlights on...
And with the French soldier
Just need to add some dirt weathering and then I’m calling this one done....
Looks terrific, stik, from all the angles.
