MM, I'm glad to see the kit completed. She looks fantastic, really really nice. BUT, I am more happy that your daughter is doing better. In the end, thats the most important thing.

Mopar Madness, I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter and am very happy she is in remission. That must be a devastating blow to a parent. She you and your family are in my prayers.

Your TA look beautiful! Great job!

Excellent work my friend! Glad to hear your things are going better with your daughter, I can only imagine!

I must confess; however, you are not the last to post your completed build for this one, I will be. I am in the final stages after a crazy year last year. I have posted updated shots in the newest Secret Santa build.

ALL PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR SIR!  Well, I apologize for bumping and old thread, and I'm sure I'm the last one to present their Secret Santa build from 2015, but 2016 was a crazy year!  My youngest daughter became ill and was initially diagnosed with Leukemia but that was downgraded to a more common form of blood cancer.  My world was crushed. But, she is in remission now and I felt it was time to literally dust off the cob webs from this fella and wrap up this GB.  All paints are Vallejo Model Air.  I highly recommend this kit to anyone lucky enough to have it in their stash!  So, without further due, I present to you my 1/48 Hobby Boss TA-152/R14.

Things have been a little crazy for me. I'll get some updated shots of the Mig-23 taken. I've gotten the paint scheme done, now just adding some of the smaller details and finish work. It shouldnt take too long to get this one wrapped up, just need to find some time to get to the bench.

Been kinda quiet here for a while. How is everyone progressing  or not on their X-mas kits?

So, here are a couple of progress shots of the Mig-23MF. I'm going to be adding another coat of the light grey to soften the pre-shaded areas, since this is going to be a show aircraft, all the pictures I have found show that this aircraft was kept pretty clean and not a lot of wear. I'll then spray the black and finally mask off for the red flames on the center section.

I've painted the engine exhaust area. The fuselage portion was painted with Tamiya flat black and the rear portion of the afterburner was painted with Tamiya semi-gloss black, then coated in Alclad Duraluminum, I will be doing some highlighting with Alclad jet exhaust and some Tamiya weathering powders to get that "burnt metal" look.

Wow Sir, that is coming along nicely. This is one kit I really need to add to the stash. I'm totally diggin' the scheme.

It was a great choice Steve and one that I had been eyeing up myself.

Dave,
It turned out great. I wasn’t sure what exactly to get you since I’m not a car guy. I had to do some research on what you may prefer by looking through the Red Hot and Rolling GB.
I’m glad you liked it.

Finally completed the Merc. It is a great kit (thanks Santa) and in the main, I am pleased with how it came out. Certainly my best effort yet.

djjeavons, that kit is really starting to look the part. It reminds me of all the cars I build year ago. I'm looking forward to seeing this in paint.

Wow, seems to be quite a bit with this kit.

There is indeed although I have to say, it's a great kit.

I did make some errors along the way, especially with painting the rear body (stripped it twice) but now that the issues have been fixed I'm starting to feel my *** coming back. Looking forward (and slightly daunted) by the number of decals to be applied, some of which need to be cut which will be a first for me.

Much appreciated.  I cannot overstate how great those Eduard Spitfires are.  They really help average modellers look good!

Disco, Great looking Spitfire.  She looks like she is ready to take off against Germany.

Keep up the great work.

Great looking Spitfire Stu! And don't worry, bourbon > photography classes 8 days a week, and twice on days ending in Y!

Hey all!  I apolgize for the gap between posts.  I have completed my Santa's gift and the Eduard Spitfire is ready to show.  I apologize for the quality of the pictures.  I'm afraid I chose bourbon over photography classes.

I absolutely love these kits and had a great time building this one!  Thank you!

Stick out tongue That is a sick looking scheme. Is it decals or do you have to paint it?

BK

Its all paint! It will be one heckuva masking job, definitely going to be challenging! I say...Bring it on!!!

I've finally got the chance to get started on my Mig-23. I'm working on the cockpit and engine details right now. This kit has some really nice photo-etch, this is going to be a first for me since I have never worked with it before. Here are a few pics of what I have so far.
