I'm still here.... I have caught the outdoor construction bug so spending most of my free time building a freestanding deck. I am taking a break from the Gigant and am starting on the Zwilling. Pics to follow.

sorry for being absent for bit, I had to get some other projects out of the way first.

This kit is rather poor, I am having to rescribe all of the pannel lines because they are almost non existant. I did the fus. now I'll have to do the wing too.

speaking of the wing, the fit to the fus. was pretty bad, and I had to shim it with some Evergreen strip.

Also the resin gun pods don't fit well either. you will see in the pics that I am going to have to putty of Mr Surfacer the joints to make them look better.

But here are a few pics for now...

Thanks John,

Here are some more pics.

I want to fair in the pods then scribe a seperation line around them once the putty dries tonight.

Well, after scribing in all the almost non-existant panel lines, furring in all the resin blobs that didn't fit and countless hours of body and fender work.

Here it is..... DONE!

I am never building another Czeck Model kit again.

Enjoy!

It may have been a bit of work but it's a fine model.  Great photos as well, Panzerjaeger.  Not all Czechmodel kits are this much work, luckily!

All of them have some spots to work through, but the 1/32 F-80 looks nice in the box.  I know the intakes take some effort to get a good fit.  I like the subjects they do and am willing to put in the extra effort.  I have an XP-56 in process and its moldings are much better than what you had to work with on the Bv-40.

Do you know anything about the 1/48 4806 Czech Model Curtiss XP-55 Ascender kit?

This one is in my stash too......

I have that as well, but I built the Collect-Aire resin kit instead.  I can't recall why, as the resin kit was not without its issues, as usual.  The moldings don't look too bad, and Tom Cleaver liked it:

apologies for being AWOL guys. Life has been getting in the way of modelling these days. Great work on those completed builds ! I am hopeful of getting some primer on the Zwilling tonight.

No apologies necessary Wirraway, i have been away far too long myself. I usually over commit myself and things(life) just unravels all those plans and then you get a bit of depression because you know durn well you can't do it all. Just one GB and model at a time to get things going again I say.
