Theuns,

I would give you my MASH Bell 47 if you weren't literally on the opposite side of the earth. The shipping alone would be twice what the kit cost and the GB would be over before it got there.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

LOL, that was a really kind offr mate, but as you said its impractical. Besides out postal servive might "help themselves" to the kit anyway :-(

I am sure I will find something easy to build soon. I have been looking at the range of small Revell series of EC-135 to 145's

I remembered that I have a 1/144 dragon Blackhawk I can do if all else fails. I would rather look for something easier though.

I am just a tad ticked off at myselff for the stupid painting mistakes I made thereby chucking about 30$ away with the MH 53....ah well it must be like golf maybe. It keeps you humble  ;-)

So I bit the bullet and got mtself a new tool Airfix 1/72 Westland Sea King. I like it because it comes standard woth the option of having a folded tail and main blades.

I really hope my building luck with this one is better than with the 53!

Late to the party as usual!  I'd like to be added with the 1/72 Special Hobby AH-1G "Over the USA and Europe".

I added you to the roster :-)

I am inbetween projects at work and only need to report at the start of Nov so I am going to try get some build time on my sea king. It is cool to have time off but as a contractor it is a hassle if you get paid ony when you work :-(

Looking at the "tiger camo" on the sea king box art I was struck with an idea to do a what if scheme like this one

Anyone got a completion yet? I'm still waiting to start. Hoping to close on my new home by Thanksgiving, then I can start and still finish by 12/31. Sucks having almost everything I own in storage. :(

Looking forward to seeing what everyone ends up with.

That's a beauty Theuns. I've been thinking fo running a Tiger Meet GB next year, or maybe just a Tiger GB that includes Tiger Meet aircraft, F-5Es, Tiger tanks, King Tigers, Sturmtigers, Jagdtigers, Tiger Moths, RAF 74 (Tiger) squadron aircraft and whatever else we thing of. I've got a Hawker Hunter in Swiss Tiger Meet colours on my mind.

I'd love you to do tjhe TIger Meet Dea Kinf now though.

Cheers

I got the fuselage closed up, interestingly the windshield is made up of 3 sections that have to be glued on. It was a little fiddly but with carefull application of tamiya extra thin in the joints it woked out well.
Next is to sand the jointlines on the the fuse then add all the little "lumps and bumps" in form of the sensors ect.

Ok guys, I am calling this one done.

The detail of this kit is nice, I would have liked more detail in the main and tail rotorhead assembly, they are very basic. I added pitch likns to the main rotor head.

The decals wer OK, a little unreactive to microsol, but not to bad.

The folded rotor head and tail is a nice touch. This model needs to be mounted on a base, there are many things to break off when handling it, I did so with the port side mounding ladder/door.

Otherwize a good little model, a vast improvement ovr the old tool sea king :-)

Nice job Theuns!  Need to add that one to the stash.  The new tool Airfix stuff keeps getting better and better.
