Hello friends! I think I’m calling this one done. I think the first photo would be most appropriate for the front page. Thank you everyone for following along.
Chad
God, Family, Models...
At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo
On deck: Who knows!
Wow that’s nice Chad stunning build.
Nick.
Thank you Nick!
Bish, with the fuselage closed on my Sea King, I’m ready to start assembling the bits and pieces that comprise the floats, gear, etc... So my next contribution to this fine GB will be the lovely 1/72 Fairey Fulmar Mk I. The original molds were from Vista and they look to be more like limited run specimens rather than something that would come from a mainstream manufacturer. Crossing my fingers on this one!
Chad, lovely finish on the 109, that has come out great, really nice job on the camo. Will update the front page at the weekend and add the Fulmer. looks like your out to reduce that Airfix stash you have been building up
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
Thank you!
Mopar, that came out gorgeous! I thought that I had enough 109s in my stash, but now you have me thinking real hard about getting one of the Airfix Emil kits. Most inspiring work!
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

Thank you so much Stik, aside from the poor decals it really was a great kit.
Got the fuselage for the Sea King put together. A few minor fit issues but nothing a little filling and sanding can’t overcome. The trick now will be to get the fuselage sealed up as quickly as possible to avoid getting sanding dust inside the fuselage. Removing it from those back windows wouldn’t be easy.
Thats coming together nicely Chad. Is this going to be in the Yellow SAR scheme.
Possibly. I have a decal set for the Royal Navy 75th anniversary livery which I’m tempted to use. Both are quite striking!

That is a nice scheme. Though judging by the flag and the 75 years, i think Print Scale may have that slightly wrong. That should be the Royal Australian Navy, founded in 1911.
The Royal Navy is a tad older than that.
That’s correct. They do mention Australia other places in the instructions. That is a little misleading though. I don’t have any experience with these decals but hopefully they’ll lay down better than those mid-2000’s Airfix decals!
I have used Print Scale decals and had no issues with them.
Bish I have used Print Scale decals and had no issues with them.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Chad - for a guy with a car-guy handle you sure do stunning aircraft! That 109 looks fantastic. I'm planning on doing a SeaKing myself - the 1/48 Hasegwawa kit. I'll be watching.
So the defiant is coming along. Having to re-read the instructions a few times to figure out the 'posable/movable' parts around the turret. I put down the dark earth today, let it set up and I may try my new badger krome and do a freehand cammo or I may stick to the sausage party which has proven to be a solid tight cammo technique.
Thanks,
John
Got the cockpit finished on the P-40B:
Nice John. The Defiant was one of those “it looked good on paper” kind of ideas!
AA, I like that. Are those decals on the panel and the sidewalls?
John, the Defiant is looking nice.
AA, nice work on the pit, those instruments have come out well.
Armor_Aficionado, the cockpit on your P-40B is looking really nice. I had an opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a P-40B a few years ago. P-40 cockpits were made for guys my dad's size: 5'9" and 150 lbs. I'm 6'2" and 200 lbs. My shoulders touched the sides of the edges of the cockpit and I could barely close the canopy. My pants fit looser than that P-40 cockpit!!
OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
Ooops...
Got the fuselage closed up on the Fulmar. There was almost no detail in the pit so I embellished a little.
Good job on the belts Chad, is that an old mold?
Its actually a repop of the older Vista kit. AZ Model makes a variation too. But, it has nice recessed panel lines and decent fit!
You have spruced that up nicely Chad.
ready for second color
On the Bench: 1/72 Ki-67, 1/48 T-38
1/144 AC-130, 1/72 AV-8A Harrier
Wow, there sure are some great builds going on in this thread. I doubt mine will live up to the high standards set here. Well, anyway here goes. I decided to tackle the Lunar lander in two pieces. The lower (landing) stage and the uper (ascent) stage. I attempted to replicate the gold Mylar cladding surrounding the lower half of the module.
I painted the gold first and maked it off, then sprayed the landing legs and braces with MM Metalizer steel...
After the Steel has been sprayed...
And after the touchups a black wash and dry brushing...
Now onto the ascent stage.
Mark aka Tomcat
On the workbench: Monogram 1/24 '69 Pontiac GTO and a Monogram 1/67 (box scale) B-26 Invader
That gold Mylar looks so sweet!
