Your Gladiator is absolutely outstanding Bish. And as usual, a terrific base.

Beautiful Bish

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Bish, your Gladiator display is terrific! Hard to imagine it's 1/72 scale.

So well done...

Cracking build mate.  Almost 33,500 views and still going strong! Did you anticipate this group build having this kind of activity?  May I ask if you could add the LCM & Sherman to the front page?

Thanks TJ.

Got the Gladiator wrapped up today. The one pic i have of the real thing shows a larger than normal antenna mast on the fuselage and what appears to be another mast on the wing. I have seen pics of other aircraft with this wing mast, so i fitted one. I used EZ line for the rigging.

Then finished it off by fitting to the base and adding a couple of figures. The decal instructions place this aircraft at Bircham Newton. But the info i found is a bit confuseing. But from what i can tell, they were at Bircham in 1942 when they were merged with another Flt to form 521 Sqn. But in early 43 521 were broken up and 1401 reformed this time at Docking, not far from Bircham. As i alreday have a subject for Bircham, i have placed this at Doking after 1401 reformed.

I had planned on having the pilot walking away from the aircraft after returning from a sortie. But as the kit includes a rather nice starting handle, i reversed it.

I got the Mossie finished as well, will hopefully get that posted tomorrow.

Bish

TJ, i meant to ask, how where those eagle strike decals.

I had no big problems with them. They are a bit thick. But come off backing very easily and are very easy to move around

Piers, the Gladiator has really nice detail out of the box, the PE just adds that little extra.

That looks nice with the orange on.

Well a huge amount has happened since I was last online, ‘spose it has been four weeks.
And Chad has completed another model or two in the time I have painted a few panels orange!
Always loved the Lightning looking forward to that being done, sure you will have no problem with the NMF. And a good price too!
Great work on the Eugen, it has come up really well, very crisp painting.
And he’s off again! Don’t see the LCT model much but it has come together quickly – what’s the detail like?
Frank, the Buffalo looks great, nicely faded look to it. Precise masking on the canopy there. Great result with your Mustang, congratulations! Like the look of the Hellcat drone, there’s a lot to fill under those wings.
Dan, Looks like there is some good detail in the 111. Bit strange about the gap in the wing. The P-40 has finished up very nicely, like the early war markings.
Theuns, great work with your NMF on the Kate.
Ernest, that’s a nice pair!
Bish, the Gloster Gladiator looks like it has some nice detail, or is it mostly from the detail sets? Certainly more than inside the Mosquito! Gladiator and Mossiehas painted up nicely too.
Ernest, you are racing along with the Mustang and the 190
TJ, that is quite a collection you have got there, looking impressive. They are coming together well. Is that your paint booth? I have a fan in the shed that I am supposed to set up at some point – sure it will happen… The Mustangs all look great with plenty of colour.
And for my poor contribution- I painted some panels orange!

Well my 5 Airfix Mustangs are complete. The only complaint I have with this kit is the dorsal antenna breaks every time you take it off the sprue

All components are ready for paint. It's pretty cool outside so I'll have to give this primer a full 24 hours to cure. Normally our Texas summers are pretty hot and dry so primer normally cures in an hour or so.

Hope this is OK.I was going to build this Hellcat drone straight out of the box but the kit cowling is just aweful. I have a Hasegawa Hellcat in the stash that I appropriated the cowling from. The fit is pretty close and the cowling looks to have the correct outline.

 .

After I get the windscreen attached I'll mate the wings and it'll be primer time.

Dan, great job on the P-40, that came out really well. Nice idea with the NATO black.

Thanks for joining us, i'll update the front page at the weekend. Should have both mine done by then as well.

Thanks Mopar Madness, great work on the Prince Eugen.

Thanks Bish, Nice work on the Gladiator & Mosquito.

Frank: The Hellcat is coming along great.

The P-40 Warhawk is finished.  When gluing on the canopy there was a small gap around the front.  I filled it in with Vallejo putty, then painted over the area with Tamiya XF-69 Nato Black.  Had run out of the Olive Drab so painted the panel area Nato Black.

After decals I airbrushed on Tamiya X-22 Clear, then let it dry for two days.  I used Tamiya panel liner.

I forgot victory marks so I added six little red stars to represent TIE fighters downed by our blue nosed A-Wing fighter...

Mopar, the WB-29 has been languishing on the shelf of doom. The longer I worked on it the less I liked it. I may revisit the build at a later date. Right now I want to get the Hellcat drone done. I've been looking around for a replacement cowling for the kit to make it look nicer.

Frank, I'm still highly anticipating that B-29! That Washington bomber is a pretty cool looking bird in the RAF livery.

Can we still post to the thread? Or do the mods lock the thread.

The mods won't lock the thread as long as it stays within FSM's rules and guidlines of civility, religion and politics. You will be able to post as long as you want, it's up to Bish if he wants to answer.

Most of the time it's bad form to display the badge unless stated in the rules and assuming you care to, if you haven't completed at least one build in a GB by the end date, but the forum police won't come after you for that either. GB's are just a fun way for the members to do something similar and my way of motivating me to reduce my stash.
