A couple of years ago i started the RAF 100th anniversary GB. Then last year Steve started his British ships GB, for which i did my patriotic duty and duly signed up. But at this point i realised there was somthing missing. After giving some thought to the matter over several cups of coffee (i don't do tea, even patriotism has limits) the penny dropped.
So, working on the principal of leaving the best till last, i thought i would see if there would be enough interest for a British army GB. The GB would be open to any subject related to the British army. Aswell as tanks, vehicles and figures, there would be scope for aircraft, those belonging to the RFC of WW1, WW2 gliders and the helicopters of the modern AAC.
And while most of us focus on the 20th century, in the hope that there may be a few figure painters out there, i would like to take the GB back to the begining. While the British Army traces its history back to the formation of an English Army in 1660, it has its origins in the New Model Army of the English Civil War. The GB would be open to subjects going back to that conflict.
As with the RAF GB, subjects from other nations serving under British command would be included. Whether that be for long periods such as the units of the 8th army or those who were under British command for a short period, such as US Airbourne forces during Market Garden.
And, so the Bootnecks don't feel left out, they are not covered by the British ships GB and they do have their origins in an English Army unit formed in 1664, Royal Marines subjects can be included. I am sure they won't mind being under the Army banner 
If there is enough interest (and why wouldn't there be) the GB will begin on Jan 1st and run throughout 2020.
So, why not sign up and take the Queens Shilling. The normal 4 year minimum has been wavered and you only have to commit 12 months service. And while you won't actually get a shilling, you will be able to choose a badge from one of 3 that you can proudly display.
