I know the build doesn't start for a month, but since I am going to be 3D printing alot of my parts, I hope it is OK that I started messing around a little in CAD trying to plan out how the plane will looks a little.  Here are a couple images that will hopefully give a better idea of what I am thinking about.

In addition, I recently was able to pick up an inexpensive copy of the 1/35 scale EMHAR Mark V Hermaphrodite WWI tank, and I have been giving some thought to maybe trying to kitbash it into something kind of along the lines of this tank prototype from the 1920s, that never got built.

If I have time, I may try and also do this kitbash as well, if that is OK, since its kind of along the lines of a Steampunk or Diesel Punk concept.

Hi,

Here is a rough first sketch of the plane I intend to try and build.

It's meant to be about the same size as a WWII dive bomber with a "cranked" leading edge to the wing, like a Vultee Vengeance, and a twin turret aft, like the early Brewster Bermuda concepts (or an A-20G).

In addition, although it is meant to have a radial engine and a tail dragging layout, the wings will have a slight inverted gull shape, and the fwd cockpit canopy will have a "bulged" Malcolm hood like shape, similar to the post war Fairey Gannet.

The main landing gear will also retract inward from the wing bend, kind of like the Gannet, and the tail will have three vertical parts, though the overall shape of the empennages, and the wing tips will be rounded, kind of similar to the Bermuda.

And finally, I also intend to put on a detachable cannon under each wing kind of similar to a Vicker's S Gun pod, shown below.

When I had outdoor cats, I could have offered you a fine selection of bird, rodent, and lizard carcasses!  And the lizards were constantly on clearance sale because they were always half off!

I've already picked out an old Mack truck to use as the base and I'm gonna pimp it out with all kinds of death "thingys" attached to it. And a huge nasty blade/plow on the front. It will be all rusty and steel plated up. A real tetanus shots worst nightmare and it will be called..."Crowd Control".

I think some craft doll components with good old fashioned styrene junk bits skeleton... and a dead pigeon(!!!) would work.  Hey, with Christmas careening towards us, how about stealing an angel's wings?  I do the devil's work, I know.

I had a look around for appropriate parts for the Veltro, but I am of the opinion that if you want to do it right, you have to do it yourself.  I am leaning towards vac forming the basic parts and just using aftermarket for the details.  OR I could get lazy an just carve a solid fuselage and flying surfaces.  For a one-off, it can work.  Just heavy though.  The Bakagalas I am working on is tremendously light yet rigid due to the hollow box frame within.

Labeling the entries are going to be intresting, that's for sure.

Real G: My first look was that she looks sorta like a He-111 but on the second the wing isn't really wide enough. I have a trashed Matchbox 1/72nd He-111 that you're welcome to if I can find it... 

As to the figure I was thinking I could probably find a doll face for the head. As to the body I'm not sure- maybe a model/toy human skeleton modified to look more cyborgish? Or a model/toy T-1000 Terminator endoskeleton- it'd have to be modifed to go from a 6ft./183cm bodybuilder to a 5'1"/155cm petite girl. I'd just be going with a generic cyborg look, not exactly like the drawing here, the ones in the manga, or Rosa Salazar from the live-action movie.

That Alita figure would be an awesome project!  Scratchbuilt figure!  I have never dared.

BTW, I have a better pic of the Veltro fighter I want to do:

It's ramming an enemy Falke fighter, but this panel offers the clearest topside view of the aircraft.  Starting to take notes and collect data.

The post-apocalypic Hemicuda from Phantasm V Ravager. Not too hard to build I'd think, two machine guns in the hood and some other added stuff:

Cover page to Yukita Kushiro's GUNNM or 'Battle Angel: Alita'. Love this drawing but looks like a pile of work to try to build this as a figure...

Any issue with either of these? I dunno if I'll go with either. Just something to grind around in my head till the first of the year...
