Gamera both models are looking great. I am very interested in seeing how the Corsair comes out.
John has been working on the design of the badge and what he has sent me looks fantastic. Will say a bit more soon.
Thank you all for your patience.

I long to live in a world where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned
And I forgot that I'm building the Tamiya P-38 for Rigidrider. I posted some photos over in Steve's Lockheed build that I'm crossposting to and forgot about here. The kit is mostly together, I'm trying to figure out the best way to paint the gear bays now.

This is where I am on the Toshi Corsair. I need to wipe off a lot more of the light tan panel line wash. Still not sure I like it or not.
mustang1989 That is a good looking color alright. Tell him he'd better hang on to it as the prices of these things are skyrocketing.

Lol, oh yeah! He's in his '80s and intends to pass her down to his kids!
Thanks John. I will send an email later today.
Thanks Joe. I appreciate your help mate.

That's EXACTLY it!!! Same hubcaps too, I don't know what year his is but it looks just like his car.
Gamera No idea, not a car guy but it's more a dark navy blue though.

Thanks Cliff, Nick and Brandon.
Cliff: Got any pics dude? I think it's the lighter shade of Blue. Clearwater Aqua or Brittany Blue maybe?

I'll round him up Rob. Gimme till tomorrow bud.
Artwork for a badge/build logo.
Folks are any of you in touch with John, (jeaton01). He has offered to do the artwork for the build logo, but I have not been able to get in touch with him. The PM system doesn't seem to be working and my next idea is to put something in the main discussion thread.
Magic paint job Joe. This is going to be a stunning model.
Joe, that looks fantastic. Well done on that clear, not much work left there. Gorgeous.

Joe: Looks awesome! One of the guys at our church owns a blue '60s Mustang that's close to the same colour just not the metallic effect.
Beautifully done and nice color. I wanted a Rupp roadster in that color.
Nick.
Gamera Joe: Thanks! Never thought of black construction paper!

Well.....................I had some time yesterday so I spent a little over an hour prepping and applying the clear coat on this puppy.
No polishing or wet sanding yet and this is the turnout. To say that I am very pleased with this outcome would simply be a gross understatement.
John: Nice F6F! I'm kinda stuck on the horns of a dilema. I kinda like the light panel lines and I kinda hate it. So it's been stuck in the box since then. I need to pull it out and take some photos. Maybe you guys can offer advice on should I go with it or wipe it off and start over with black.
Gamera Ohhhhhhhh that's so cool Nick!!! I got a little more done on my Corsair. Since the blue is so dark I tried a light wash instead of the normal dark. I'm not sure I like it. I might wash it off and go back to a normal dark wash.

Hey Gam, I did something similar with my Hellcat. Perhaps not accurate but looks pretty cool. What did you decide?
Thanks,
Good to see you back in the saddle Mustang.
keavdog Cool another Maverick. Is this a Jo-Han kit as well?

Gamera Great work there! Weird about the wings, looking forward to seeing how you fix this. Maverick looks cool too!

Thanks fellas. Already got my next project up on the bench. I'll be doing this as not only a tribute to the folks we've lost here but also to my mother who loved watching me build these things. I don't think she "got it" as far as to why I/ we build these things but she sure had an appreciation for them.
Next up.....project....Maverick.
N-i-c-e work Mustang!

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
Really coming together now mate!
Finally I'm back at the bench gang. I've moved onto the firewall which I had a definite problem with. I have had the floor mats installed into the interior tub for a while now but will need to slip the tub assy up into the body when it gets to the point of installing it. The problem with that is that I would've had to figure out how to get the floor mats on top of the foot boards of the interior as well as to slip the body around the firewall "wings".
Check it out:
I decided to see if I could approach it from another angle by installing the firewall onto the front of the interior tub and slipping the whole thing up inside of the body in the final assembly stages. The problem with that is I would have to stretch the body around the firewall "wings" I was talking about. NOT something I really care to do.
So I merely cut these off. I'll come back to this later when I have the body installed and figure something out for some covering on the outside of the firewall.
and here we are with the engine installed onto the chassis. Gonna run some brake lines from the mastercylinder, a vacuum line from the brake booster to the back of the carburetor baseplate and install the fan and we'll be pretty much done with this part.
