Just discovered one of my outside sprockets has about half the teeth missingAngry [:(!]. I've been shopping around a bit for some ideas and it looks like casting a new from resin is the best option. Only touble is I've never done it before, I'm game to try it, but now I have to talk wifey into spending another $80 for a starter set. Guess I'd better shine up my silver tonguedEvil [}:)].

On the top deck behind the turret there is a railing to keep the gun from damaging the tank but in that same area and on the left side I have seen another railing that is square in shape and runs parallel with the body. What is that? I tried hard to find a picture on the internet but this drawing was the best I could do.

It supposed to be a frame for a radio's area.
It seems to be that :

Pierre,

When I saw that book my mouth started to water. I do not really like to buy things from Europe because of the expensive but for that book I might change my mind.

Not quite certain yet, Marc... As soon as I can get a company bank account in the UK for the new company; just a question of signing papers, but with me here and friend and partner Marc Urwicz in France, it takes a bit of time...

I know what you're talking about Chris, but I don't have a clue what it is. It's shown on the Zaloga drawings I have and I can see it in two of the photos in the book "Blitzkrieg". (need a magnifier though) I'll include it as it's on the photo of the completed model on the box top as well, but once again, I don't know what it is. Of course the interrupter must be put on because it's a prominent item. The rest of the details will be some hatch handles and a couple of stowage hooks that are clearly shown in most photos. I don't want to get too crazy 'cause the build itself is pretty challenging for my skills.

It's a big project for sure, Steve. I had my kit for sometime. I bought it from Mike Bishop the creator. I have been building a collection of data on the Char B1 so feel free to ask and of course there are our fellow modelers in France that have the 1 to 1 scale Char B1 for reference. When you do a project how detailed to you get?

I'll make it Chris, but it's a bigger project than it looked. I guess there was a good reason I left this kit sit in the closet for twenty years. Anyway, I'm using Zaloga's "Blitzkrieg", Ellis' "Tanks of WWII" and Chamberlin's "Tanks of the World 1915-1945" as my primary references with the photos Pierre gave us access to as well.

I am making changes to my first post to this GB as we go so you can check it to see what's happing with this GB.

I am going to get realistic and I'm dropping the FCM 36 from my planned projects. These resin kits are a bit of a challenge for me.Sigh [sigh]

Steve, I feel your pain. Hang in there.Big Smile [:D]Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks Chris, I'll get with the program on the badge. I've looked at the tracks and they're less than stellar in my kit. Going to be a big job. It's looking like I'm going to have quite a space between the rear and top fenders even though the rear hull and hull top look like they'll be okay. Looks like a putty party coming up but, I keep looking at the box top and saying to myself, "I can do this."

Steve,
You will need to update your profile and in the signature block that takes text and graphics you will need to put in brackets [ ] the letters img then the address http://perso.wanadoo.fr/maquette.garden/french%2001.JPG and on the end put /img in brackets[ ]. Type it in all together with no spaces and you should get the badge.

As for the Char b1 bis I was using the thicker superglue to glue the resin parts. Have you cleaned off the flash on the metal tracks? I have been thinking about attaching the track all around the sponson and then glue it on. There is going to be quite a bit of scratchbuilding to do on this kit. What are you using for references?

Okay, I'm a putz. I can't figure out how to put the GB badge in my sig. I tried to follow the link on that subject from last month in the armor forum, but it just confused me. Guess I need to buy "avatars for dummies" or something. On the GB note; I've been working on the kit a little at a time, mostly doing research and planning construction. It's a bigger project than I expected. Anyway, I'm thinking I'll need to build and install the top run of track before attaching the sponsons to the upper hull. Also thinking about using five minute epoxy to put the main components together. Any thoughts? Blush [:I]

I have a question about the badges. Do you get to attach the badge if you are participating in a GB or when you finish the GB?
