I know I could use some more time, but even with an extension, I'll probably miss the "deadline" on this one, but I'll still post photos when I get it done.

June 15th!? Well, I had better get off my duff!Tongue [:P] Good thing my HEMMT refueler is mostly together. I finally pulled it out of the box it had been in for the last 2 or 3 months! Minor damage but nothing that can't be fixed! Smile [:)] Calvin

Guess I'd better find some time to get this one done, along with my A-10 for that GB. I've been slacking, I know, but I hope to get my convoy escort done in time.

Been absolutely beautiful here too. Temps in the high 60s to middle 70s. Low humidity. Hard to make yourself set at a bench when weather is like that huh?

I think we're all suffering from Get-outside-itis. It's been warm and sunny lately, and the humidity hasn't started its climb into the stratosphere, so I try to make the most of the spring here. Yardwork and the like, you know? Still, I've got my guntruck staring at me every time I sit down at the bench, just accusing me of abandoning it. I guess I need a rainy weekend to get some work done on it.

The crane is part of the kit, but all the hydraulic lines and controls are added by me from wire and sprue.

Very nice, Scorn! Did the crane come w/ the kit or was that AM? The cranes on the LVS Mk 48/15 wreckers that I drove in the Corps looked similar. - Calvin

To comply with the new limitations on GB badge sizes, I shrunk this one and you can use it from this link:

Unless someone has come up with a differnet one. Then I will be ticked off ! lol It took a little time to make all my badges into one image! Hate to remake it!

Scorn, excellent job. THe cargo bed looks very nice, some realistic wear and tear there Big Smile [:D]

I know what you guys mean about a slump. I've been trying to finish up my 251 for a while now, and weekend after weekend go by, and I apparently have lost the ability to motivate myself. Maybe in a week or two more Smile [:)]

Excellent work, Scorn. That's a good looking truck you've got there. Sadly, I've gotten nothing more done on my project. I think I'm just in a slump right now, I sit there and fiddle with the parts, but I just don't get any real progress done. But your pics do help me get motivated, so thanks for sharing!

UPDATE AND COMPLETED:

This will sooner or later go into a diorama with the 5-ton I built earlier, a HMMWV ambulance, and a HMMWV guntruck.

I now wear the group build badge with pride.

Do you have the Italeri?

The kit looks folded, but all of the hydraulics are built so that they have some motion to them. I built mine so that there is some up and down motion for the boom, but I glued the rotation and forward/rear motion axis in preparation for the diorama that it will be incorporated into.

If you want any great ref pics btw let me know. Have a huge number and will gladly compress and send to you.

Great progress Scorn. THe crane looks great. Does it come out of the kit like that? FOr some reason, last time I looked at mine, I thought it came only with the option for it to be folded closed...?

Amazing details, Scorn. Keep the updates coming, you're shaming me into getting back to work on my truck, and that's just what I need, a little push!
