bstrump,

Thanks for the welcome.......I really didn't think anyone would have realized how long it has been since I posted on here.As with the F-14 GB,considering my schedule I couldn't keep up.I started working on an Aires cockpit for the -14,and when it came time to airbrush the base color for the photo-etch instrument panel, I came to the conclusion that the trusty Aztec just wasn't spraying thin enough without drowning detail. So, I saved up for about a month or so, and bought a Iwata on-line from DixieArt (which is located in New Orleans) a week to the day before the hurricane hit.I ended up waiting just over a month for it.I was actually surprised to get it! I didn't think I would ever see it!! Anyway to make a long story short, I am STILL working on my F-14 and thinking about entering it in the Superdetailed GB.But anyhoo..it was nice to hear from you....thanks again for the warm reception! All the best......

Hey A68TransAm-Mustang!! Glad to see you back on the Forum. This is the first time I've seen you post in eons. The last time I "saw" you was in the F-14 GB. Glad you like the GB patch.Big Smile [:D] I, too, like the "cominatcha" look to it. Anyway, glad to have you on board for this build. I think Roadkill_275 only has access to the internet on the weekends so you'll have to wait till then for the Official welcome. In the meantime, my welcome will have to do.

If you don't mind I would like to join this GB with the 1/48 scale BONE. I will probably have to hang mine from the ceiling since I have no room to display this beast. But the good thing is I can hang mine in the kitchen and not catch any flack for it Wink [;)]Tongue [:P] (I'm a bachelor) I have the cutting edge burner cans and TwoBobs decals and I just got my Eduard set about a week ago....so I'm good. And I give the GB badge a definate 'thumbs up", I think that is one of the most menacing pics of a B-1 ever published. And kind of a heads up..my progress is really slow on my building because I am only home 2 days a week and I have to try to cram all of my chores, socializing, and sleeping in a 36 to 48 hour window. But I will post pics as my progress advances.Anyway..let me know....

Thanks for the welcome roadkill, and thanks for the heads-up bstrump .... I have, indeed, been trawling ebay and vast stretches of the rest of the internet, but to no avail, as yet.

Did however managed to locate an AMT 1/72 XB-70.

Am continuing the quest, and if push comes to shove will have to opt for the airfix kit, but i'd seriously prefer the monogram kit, if at all possible.

Failing success on that approach, I might even go for the 1/48 revell kit available at a shop just up the road .... but I find myself wondering "where will i put it?"

Welcome aboard Knight667 and Burn16v. Don't worry if you can't find anything right now, thats why I gave such a large lead time on this one.

burn16v, I don't know about the Revell kit but Squadron has the Airfix kit on "Comsale" right now for $24.99. It's not as good as the Revellogram kit but at least there is the Cutting Edge exhaust set to dress it up. Other than that, I think ebay is your only bet for the Revell/Monogram kit right now.

roadkill, I've been dying to build a B-1B since before I can remember, so count me in provisionally.

The only condition is that i can actually locate a kit ..... i know where to get a 1/48 revell locally, but suspect my brother will go after that one (if he takes the bait and joins the GB!), and 1/72 is my prefered scale anyway.

On that note, anyone know where I could locate the 1/72 revell kit online?

Okay, count me in. I'll be building the old 1/48 Revell B-1B. Shhhh...don't tell my wife!!! Actually, she knows I've got it and where I'm gonna put it...on top of the bookcase in our den (there's no way I'm hanging that monster from my ceiling...I don't think our ceiling beams could handle it!).

Oh, and I'm going strictly OOB on this one.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome]fighterguru. The official start date is 1-1. The reason being with the expense of the 1/48 Bone and the 1/72 being oop this will give people time to gather things up.

Roadkill has to wait until the weekends to have use of the internet. And this build does not start until 1/1/06.

I was playing around with Microsoft Picture It 9 and trying to design a badge for our GB. This what my imagination has come up with:

What do you think, roadkill? Let me know what improvements I need to make, if any.

If everyone likes it and wants to use it, all I ask is that you host on your own Photobucket account.

That's good news! I'm really looking forward to this one. BTW, the resin exhaust cans arrrived from Meteor a few days ago and these things are incredible works of art. It would be a shame to cover up all that detail with turkey feathers. So, I'm going to do mine in the overall gray scheme as the 9BMS "Bad To The B-One"
