future also help in that you can use a little CA and not fog up the clear plastic.
fobius the finer the better on sanding, so look for sandpaper that is 1500 or 2000 and even finer.

well, I have never used it myself, but I have read alot about it on the net. apparently it is good for removing light scratches on clear parts which is what I need it for. my windscreen noticeably scratched. any other ideas how I could fix it without future?

1 more thing, I have sanded down the body of my shelby with the finest sandpaper I could find to remove dust in the paint job. looks alot better now, but something worries me. when I put on another coat of gloss black will it cover up the sand marks or will they still be visable? I have never had to sand a model so any suggestions would be great.

Hey guys .. lol, sorry my input is so spread out in time.. but oh well.

platinum - the badge looks pretty good. if you get any free time to try to think up other ideas then go for it and we'll end up having a vote or something for the official badge. btw, that model is awesome. i wish i could do stuff like that! oh yeah, and i dont know anything about what transmission is the right one for the kit or any of that, i just like building models and i like the way the cars look. so i build em. Tongue [:P]

platinum - i use a badger 175 crescendo. i have no backup airbrush or anything of the sort. and every time i use a brush.... every time i use it and then go to clean it out, i guess i do it wrong or something because after i use a brush once it just hardens up and i can never use it again. so it didnt take me very long to just stop using brushes..... hi guys

sorry I havnt been here for a while, I have had the flu for the last week. As far as the badge goes, I havnt done a thing, lol. looks like you guys already have some though, so I wont worry about, plus I want to get back into my shelby. details for my kit are as follows; its a RM 1/24 scale, shelby 68 350 GT straight from the box. This kit actually has some history, I have had it for about 10 years sitting in a shed with no box, just in a sandwich bag, lol. so a few months back I decided to get it started ,and well here I am. I am still having problems finding future, anyone know where I can get some in Australia?

I opened up my amt 1/25 mach 1 and I am staring at the trans mission and thinking "what the Censored [censored] is this it is not a C6 trans or a C4 w/large bellhousinf, and it is not the fmx trans. I have the fmx in my mustang, had to go out side and crawl under the car and make sure. so leave it up to Amt to slap something onto this 390 motor. so I will cut it off and find the correct trans. by te way it is not there manual trans either.

What air brush do you have? hope it is not fatal, I could not live without my air brushes. I use paint brushes for glueing now that is about it. on the other hand my azteck 470 is waiting to be shipped back to testors. something went wrong inside. But I have my badgers for back up, a 100xf and a 150.

I busted open my GT model last night and checked out the engine since that's always the first chunk to get assembled. The radiator is really cool! Usually the radiator parts of car kits are like, solid plastic or whatever ... and this one has two halves - front half, with radiator coils and all that stuff; and back half, with fan. So when you glue them together, it looks like there's space beneath the fan!

That's so neat!!

It's looking good so far. I no longer have a digital camera but I just glued some parts together until I got to a piece that needed to be painted anything except for black. My airbrush actually physically broke the other day as I was cleaning it, and I guess I need to weld it back together (the part that you put the paint cup in just came off the main part of the airbrush and I guess welding it would be an effective way to repair it). But when I get it fixed, I will paint that whole assembly black and continue with the kit.

Hopefully my airbrush problem doesn't get in the way of me finishing the kit .... !!

Hey guys. Yeah, sorry I haven't put anything up in a few days, I've been spending all of my time either at work or volunteering with the local high school's marching band camp, from which I graduated two years ago and am still helping the marching band. It's the only thing I miss, so I go and help them out and get volunteer hours for it.

But anyway, that's why I haven't been on the thread in a few days. Soon as I get home, I go straight to bed.

Kevin - 1969 Mach 1 is a really nice Mustang, but my favorite Mustang is the 1969 Boss 429. In close second is the 1998 Cobra.

Sounds like you're having some problems with that Shelby! I hate it when I totally bomb a paint job .. I have done it before, on two planes and most recently on a Mustang of my own... no fun.

But sure! Like Kevin said, the more the merrier -- as long as you don't touch it until August 1, the difference is trivial in my opinion. I just want to know what band model, what scale, and what kind of Mustang it is that you are going to build. For me to record on the first post of the thread.

Anyhow, yeah, welcome to the GB. Three's a crowd, I guess.... Tongue [:P] And anybody, participant or not, can give a go at the GB badge if they want to, so feel free to go for it fobius. I've already done two ideas but they're not very appealing...... lol. Like I said, I can do it if it really comes down to that but almost anybody can do a better job. So give it a shot and we'll see what results from it.

Glad to have you aboard, fobius. Only five more days ..........
