Thanks, it was a nice simple fun kit to build. I did just get a Humvee ambulance kit, so I may do that one too, but I have several other builds going on so it may be a bit.

Tom, sounds good to me!  As long as it carried wounded personnel at one point, it counts as an ambulance to me. :)

I have some tricks for complicated camo patterns...PM or email me if you want.

John - I wish I had seen this earlier!!!  I'm not sure I can pull it off with everything else going on right now but I *might* be able to go for a CH-46 Sea Knight for this, let me think about it a bit.  I flew medevac (both medevac and casevac) on two deployments with a rapid deployment team I was on when I was serving with USMC as a Navy medic and would love to recreate the old days.  Problem is it is a complicated camo scheme (at least for me) for the mid 80's early 90's USMC choppers but who knows.. I might be up to the challenge now!

I also flew on the CH-53's but I'd have to reasearch who does that kit...

I guess I should ask first, but would that be allowable for this GB?  There's no red crosses on them... in fact they are the same helicotpers that fly them in for the assault, and fly them back out when they are wounded... not a specialty vehicle like a actual ambulance at all...

---Tom--- O' brave new world, That has such people in it!

Well I got a little more done, I was surprised this kit actually has a half decently detailed motor in it, to bad you really can't see it once everything is on the Jeep, it actually has clear lenses for the headlights too.

There are a bunch of fidly bits to the frame but so far everything has lined up fine.

Great work, Aaronw!  Looking forward to seeing more!

I'm thinking about starting in on another one, just to liven things up around here.  Probably Revell AG's 1/35 MAN 6x6 in UN Ambulance markings.

Ok, well here is the start, nice little kit should be a quick easy build. It is Italeri's 1/35 Willy's Jeep Ambulance.

Here is the body and rolling chassis.

Well this is not a terribly active GB but hey I like the topic and I didn't see it earlier. I have an Italeri Willy's Jeep ambulance I just picked up. Can I join in?

Hey gang.

Here's the first couple of shots of my 1/35 UH-60Q Medevac. The instrument panel is being reworked and a glass cockpit will be built.  I removed the other raised detail and the glass displays will be installed.  The rest of the shots shows the paint applied to the cockpit. More to come later.

Depends on where your interest lies.  For AFV, there are several options, including the M997 that I built.  PM or email me and I can give you some more pointers.

I had thought this GB was dead, because no one had posted anything for a while...glad there's some life to it yet!

Finished the M997 last night! Took a couple pictures before I put it in my display case. Other than the overspray on the black (that'll teach me to use a rattlecan for camouflage, even if it's masked!) I'm pretty happy with it.

Anybody else interested in completing this build or am I really all there is? Disapprove [V]

Got all the decals finished Monday and a flat coat applied last night. Don't care for the MM Lusterless (Flat) spray...I think I'll go back to using the regular Testors Dullcote (I get better results).

Finished the Fuchs last night, and it turned out really great!

Very pleased overall with it, considering it's white. ;)

Futured and decaled the M997 last night, as well as painting all the lights and details. Hoping to dullcote this evening and put the tires/wheels on. Should be done tomorrow. Yay!!

Almost done! Well, with the Fuchs, anyway. Smile [:)] I'm hoping to get the accessories (shovels, pics, axe, etc) done tonight and dullcote the entire thing tomorrow (or maybe tonight)!

Not a whole lot more progress on the M997...got all the camouflage done and the underside painted flat black last night. Hoping to Future it tonight.

Got the decals on the Fuchs ambulance and another coat of Future on it:

Got the M997 almost completely painted:

Sorry for the dark picture on the Fuchs, lighting was being weird in my workshop. Anyway, it got it's second coat of white last night:

Started masking the M997 as well...talk about tedious! But the end result will be worth it. :)

For those who are wondering, I make a scale photo copy of the camouflage layout (in this case a field manual on painting US military vehicles) and then cut out the different sections and put them on with rolled up masking tape. Works pretty well...this is how I camo'd my Mosquito I posted a few months back. Found the technique in an issue of FSM, actually. Big Smile [:D]
